About Ink & Iron

From the moment I discovered D&D, I knew I wanted to be a Game Master. I love creating immersive worlds filled with mystery, intrigue, and meaningful choices—and then collaborating with players to bring those worlds to life. For me, the most exciting moments at the table happen when characters are pushed beyond the obvious solution and players discover who their characters truly are when faced with difficult decisions. My games are driven by story and character, with a strong focus on roleplay, social dynamics, and player agency. I enjoy crafting scenarios where choices matter, relationships evolve, and the world responds authentically to the party’s actions. Combat is present and purposeful, but it always serves the narrative rather than existing for its own sake. Above all, I aim to create a welcoming, respectful table where players feel comfortable taking creative risks, engaging deeply with the story, and investing in their characters. If you’re looking for a GM who values collaboration, narrative depth, and memorable moments, I’d love to have you at my table.

How Ink & Iron runs games

Theme is the backbone of the games I run. I’m at my best when I’m working with the players to build a shared story — a series of moments that slowly weave together into something meaningful. Player characters are always front and centre in my campaigns. I make a conscious effort to integrate your character’s backstory, goals, and choices into the world itself, rather than keeping them on the sidelines. Getting everyone aligned with the tone and direction of the story early on helps create a much stronger experience for the whole table. My strengths as a GM are story and roleplay first, with combat a close second. I enjoy combat most when it serves the narrative and carries real stakes. Fights should matter, not just exist to burn resources, so I like to add environmental pressure, objectives, or story consequences to keep things engaging. Homebrew is a big part of what I enjoy about running games. Whether it’s a custom monster, a new mechanic, or an entirely original setting, I like to tailor the experience to the campaign and the group. You can expect to encounter enemies, systems, and story elements you won’t find straight out of a book.

Ink & Iron's ideal table

My games are always player-focused. I work closely with my players to help them realise their vision for their characters and the story they want to tell. Everyone at the table gets time in the spotlight, and I actively manage scenes so each character feels important to the narrative. I enjoy roleplay-heavy games with strong character interaction, meaningful choices, and space for players to explore who their characters are. Roleplay doesn’t require accents or performance — engagement and intent matter far more than theatrics. I’m comfortable playing with new players and enjoy helping people learn the game in a supportive, low-pressure environment. Rules questions are always welcome, and I’m happy to explain options or mechanics as we go without slowing the game down. I lean toward the rule of cool over strict rules-as-written when it serves the story or creates a memorable moment, while still aiming for consistency and fairness. I value smooth pacing and clear rulings so the game keeps moving. I aim for campaigns that feel tense and meaningful without being overly lethal. Character death is possible through poor decisions or bad luck, but it’s not something I pursue casually. I prefer stakes that come from consequences, character choices, and the world reacting to player actions. Worldbuilding and immersion are very important to me. I put care into creating worlds that feel lived-in and believable — settings where player choices matter and leave a lasting mark. I come to sessions prepared and organised, and I respect the time and investment my players bring to the table.
