Hiya! I'm Chad (no my parents didn't know it was gonna be a meme) I'm a 20-year-old DM who has 6 years of experience as a player and about 5 as a GM. As many do I found it very intimidating to DM when I started, my playstyle was a little bit toxic prioritising railroading a plot and losing hope when players would come up with great ideas. Only when I started Gming my third campaign did I realise that your players coming up with chaotic and interesting ideas and making sure they were able to do what they wanted (to a reasonable degree) was what I actually had to prioritise. I started to believe that if they cared about progression and the story I had put in front of them they would follow it and if not then it was time to change something to keep them engaged.

GM Style

I would like to think that I can balance RP, Combat, and Exploration, according to my player's preferences. I naturally lean more towards RP and appreciate creative improv. I like doing voices and creating mannerisms for my NPCs. That being said I also enjoy describing rich scenes and creating deadly fights. I've found it much more rewarding recently to be more reactive to what players do during a session rather than planning meticulously.
