About Ryan Baker
Hello! my name is Ryan Baker (He/Him) I am an author, actor, and illustrator based in Orlando, Florida. I have been playing Dungeons & Dragons 5E/2024 for six years and have been DMing for five years. I have a BA in Creative Writing, a background in theatre, and am currently working on obtaining my Master's Degree in English. I love horror and study horror media, and I always try to create a haunting atmosphere at my tables. Safety and player comfort are paramount at my table (especially in horror games). I love helping new players get started and find their voice as a player :) LGBTQ+ friendly

My favorite books are
I love reading the works of new religious movement scholar Joseph P. Laycock (the ones I can afford, at least), but the one that had the biggest impact on me was "The Exorcist Effect: Horror, Religion, and Demonic Belief," which he wrote with Eric Harrelson.
My favorite shows/movies are
I like to binge-watch horror franchises, and some of my favorites are Saw, Evil Dead, Carrie, and Scream. I am also a big Mike Flanagan fan.
How Ryan Baker runs games
My background is in theatre and writing, so my games tend to be primarily focused on roleplay; however, I try to include at least one combat encounter in every game and one big combat session every once in a while.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
If you are into horror movies, you are going to have a good time at my table. I am incredibly passionate about horror, and I bring that love into my games.
I think it's a red flag when players...
Roleplay overly detrimental characters. I find it horribly frustrating when a player is roleplaying a character that is actively holding the party back from the plot, or roleplaying the same thoughts in circles endlessly.
