About Noctorious
I have been playing and Dungeon Mastering, off and on for about 42 years. I first got my love of Dungeons and Dragons with the 1981 version of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (1st Edition). I loved the fantasy, stories, imagination, emersion, and painting miniatures. I continued playing off and on with close friends over the years. Every Saturday, we would meet at a friend’s house and we would take turns with new campaigns every so often. We played Undermountain, Temple of Elemental Evil, Curse of Strahd, you name it, we probably played it. The game changed from 1st Edition to 2nd Edition, but we continued playing for years. After college, family and ‘real life’ took priority and I took a break from D&D for a few years. Later, like many people, Critical Role and 5th Edition rekindled my interest and love of the game. I started playing and running games at a local gaming store. I had a bad habit of spending most of my disposable income on buying Miniatures and so life was quite fun again with Dungeons and Dragons. Eventually, the gaming store shut down due to COVID. It was at this time that I discovered Fantasy Grounds as an amazing Virtual Desktop. I have been running and playing games on Fantasy Grounds ever since then. My favorite game to run, is the Mega-Dungeon … Dungeon of the Mad Mage. If you join my game, please try not to youtube or read about the game, because: (a) you might spoil some surprises for yourself or others and (b) I have my own strange twist on the Mad Mage and his Dungeon. I host the game using: (a) Fantasy Grounds as a Virtual Desktop with a 5e rule set and (b) Discord for our voice chat as well atmospheric soundscapes that I play softly in the background. I hope you will join me in creating our own special version of the ancient Dungeon beneath Water Deep! I like to use the cyber-handle of 'Noctorious', which I have used over the years as a reoccurring favorite character in many game systems. My profile picture is one of Halaster Blackcloak, the Mad Mage himself! I am looking forward to seeing your characters explore the Dungeon of the Mad Mage!
