About Junebug
Hey Hey my Darlings! 💜 I’m June (She/her), and I’ve been in love with TTRPG’s for over a decade ~ As a young girl, I was inspired by Yogsquest, and cobbled together my own adventures from a mix of 5e Homebrew, 3.5E books, and clips from High Rollers for my friends and family 🎲 10 years have passed, and now armed with a better understanding of the rules, I still adore making my own worlds and adventures, and sharing them with my players 💜 Apart from TTRPG’s, I have a special love of sharks and ancient marine reptiles, wargaming, hot chocolate, queer stories and found family, a burning hatred of AI, and just a dash of eldritch horror, existential dread and silly voices 💜

My favorite books are
Guards Guards! by Terry Pratchett, Temeraire by Naomi Novik, and Mortal Engines by Phillip Reeve 📖 Terry Pratchett is my favourite author of all time, and his unique world-building is at the core of making my stories believable, while not being held back by "realism".
People are always surprised when I tell them
I'm from the north of England! For reasons yet unknown to me, I lack any northern UK accent, to the point where people in my home town will ask me where I'm from on basically any time I leave my house 🏡
When I'm not running games I'm...
Running Raids in World of Warcraft, or Streaming on my twitch! I love building communities with others, hanging with friends, and making people laugh, even if I spend half the fight with Dimensius kissing the floor 😅
How Junebug runs games
The most wondrous thing to me about TTRPG’s, is how each story is uniquely yours. Five groups can play through the same Mines of Phandelver, and each take away a story never before told. My style specialises in that, focusing on making the stories I run uniquely yours, where your choices matter, and your character belongs as part of the world. I love working with my players to create my setting, giving them allies, enemies, a place to call home, a reason to adventure, rather than just having a level two warlock “Pop!” into existence in a tavern. As part of that, I do not use AI for any part of my games whatsoever, these stories are ours 💜 For combat, I tend to skew towards dangerous, but not unfair. Prepared enemies will have a plan, they will make the most of the abilities they have, but they aren't mindless drones in a hivemind. They will panic, they will flee, they will lose co-ordination as you turn the tide, their eyes growing wide as they see your powers, and they will grovel and beg to save their own hides ✨ As part of my living worlds, I love crafting roleplay opportunities, as there will be times on your adventures where a fireball can’t save you. I can promise you characters with motivations, histories, wants and needs, and I adore playing as characters from your backstories, be they benign or malignant. These will not be static, enemies may become allies, allies can be betrayed, and that goblin bandit you let live will not forget your face ⚔️

I love it when a player
Uses their own powers and story to give another player the spotlight. Having an awesome moment of pure-power fantasy can be incredible, but a moment where you work together to let another player shine will be remembered for years to come 💜
I think it's a red flag when players...
see the other players as opponents, rather than allies. Your characters may not always get along, but if you're here to work against your fellow players themsleves, why bother playing a tabletop RPG?
I think min/maxing...
can be absolutely amazing, especially with builds that buff or complement your party. Tougher players mean I get to use the Fun Monsters(TM), but that only really works if every player wants to min-max, else you have Little Boblin the Goblin smushed by a Balor 😈
