About me
Hey friends! My name is Michael, and I have about 4 years of experience as a GM for D&D. I've been playing for about 6 years now, though. My inspiration for starting D&D was my love for fantasy novels such as The Lord of the Rings, Dragonlance, The Chronicles of Narnia, and the Drizzt Do'Urden series. I am well versed in D&D 5e, and prefer to play in that system. However, I am fairly lenient with certain things as long as it adds to the story. My goal with every campaign is to allow the players to have the most fun they possibly can while creating an amazing story as we go. I like to work individually with my players to find cool ways of developing deep backstories and character development which can be incorporated into my overall campaign storyline. I have home brewed an entire world setting, and the campaign will take place on the main continent of Eldamar. For a glimpse of what you can expect, read the info below: Eldamar Campaign Setting- Our adventure will take place on the continent of Eldamar and potentially its nearby surrounding islands of Tinkerton, Meas, and Ticopanis. Eldamar is a continent divided into 8 different countries containing a variety of people of all shapes, sizes, and backgrounds. While adventuring in this setting you have the opportunity to encounter roving bands of Gnolls, a self-proclaimed Pirate Queen and her naval armada, Lord General Sarnahk of the desolate lands of Argonia, Drow raiding parties, a criminal family who has taken over a major port city, and everything in between! Be prepared for a range of adventures that can be heartfelt, emotional, inspiring, humorous, or sometimes all of the above. Eldamar is a fantasy setting with an occasional pop culture reference for fun. Whether you are new to D&D or an experienced player, there’s a fun adventure awaiting you in the lands of Eldamar! If you have any further questions, please send me a message and I'd be happy to discuss any other details about my GM style, rules, my home brew setting, etc!
GM Style
For me, story is the most important thing. I love to allow the players to steer the story in one direction or another, while maintaining an overarching storyline. While roleplay is my favorite thing, that doesn't mean I also don't enjoy creating some really cool combat encounters. I like to tailor the combat to both the strengths and weaknesses of the player characters, and am capable of adjusting the difficulty on the fly if necessary. I can do some character voices, but wouldn't claim to be an expert yet.
