About me

I am a new DM looking to take my skills to the next level! I have been a DM for family and friends for a year and have had so much fun with it. I have a strong foundation of skills that help me to be a good DM. I was a theater kid from ages 9-18 (and occasionally participate in community theater when I get the chance). That taught me to let go and just be the character I am playing, as well as learning to work together with a team to tell a story. I was also a middle school science teacher for 3 years. During this time I learned how to make plans and activities that were engaging and fun for participants. It also sharpened my time management and conflict resolution skills. When I put those things together with my love of fantasy books, being a DM is a no-brainer. I value creating new and positive experiences for my players. I love to take the time to incorporate player character's backgrounds into the setting. I hope to foster a safe, inclusive, and creative atmosphere that encourages teamwork.

GM Style

I love the roleplay aspect of DND. I like it when characters find clever ways around obstacles. I tend to be goofy and lean into the fantastical side of my games. As I am still new to DND, I prefer not to homebrew and to only allow options from officially published WOTC sources, because I know they are already playtested and balanced. However, with all of the recent troubles with WOTC, I might be a bit more flexible in the future.
