I've been a GM for about 5 years now, serving up whimsy and adventure on a weekly basis. Started GMing mainly out of necessity. Always being in a group of friends that wanted to play DnD but never having a DM just made me take the leap.

How Donovan runs games
My GM style rewards creativity, roleplay and tactical thinking, but overall I try to make sure my players are having fun in an encouraging and positive environment. Visual immersion is important, so I utilize plenty of detailed battle maps, but I also use theater of the mind in order to remain flexible and go in unplanned directions the players may want to explore, or for the sake of flowing through more narrative/role-play heavy sections of a session.
