About Claude J Dean
I am a long time GM (roughly 5 years for Pathfinder 2nd Edition and much more in D&D 5e). I have tested and toyed with several other systems as well. I also publish homebrew content for Pathfinder 2nd Edition on PathfinderInfinite - https://www.pathfinderinfinite.com/browse.php?author=Claude%20J%20Dean I adore sculpting forth worlds that react and respond to players and their actions. While I prefer some consistency in my players' actions in game, I won't require you to hold a certain belief or morality as long as it isn't too hostile to the rest of the group's enjoyment. This means I am fine sporting a criminal party, a group of warmongers that do good to their own gain, and plenty of other less heroic walks of life. If you have questions for me, feel free to ask me on Discord (preferably with some preface about why you are sending this question just so I know where you came from and what you want from me).

I became a GM because
I absolutely adore working through stories with other people, seeing how people might react and respond to various things.
People are always surprised when I tell them
that we can try their crazy idea that doesn't have any mechanical backing by the system we are playing.
How Claude J Dean runs games
I want to work with my players to produce the best outcome for the lot of us. Whether that is working out custom things to help your character feel even more unique, talking over various possible rules which will help the party have more fun each session, and doing my best to test the players' creativity and ability to adapt. While I certainly can run an easier campaign, I tend to play with some moderate level of difficulty in my games. This can range from traps which do far more than simply damage someone, monsters utilizing some rather cruel tactics (Door Metas, Concealment paired with AoEs, and plenty of other nasty combos), and will frequently equip enemies with some level of consumables or runes that are around their level (meaning it is rather frequent enemies will have the ability to drink a healing potion to heal up) although this can sometimes prove to the party's benefit as those items don't simply vanish when the creature is defeated.

I prep by
getting the general themes for whatever the party might want to do, leaving the precise details of things up to how it feels during the session, such as using a loosely randomly generated group of enemies (amongst a list of enemies at similar power levels) to be the fight rather than picking exacts
My games focus on...
the player's adventure in a world and how they might change the world by their presence, whether or not these players are people of importance or merely travelers in it as everyone else.
Rules are...
intended to help us have fun by knowing what to expect. They don't demand how we play and are meant to be altered for the game.

I love it when a player
reads the lore I work up / works with me to fit into the lore for their character.
My perfect party mix is
the one that causes the most fun for everyone. Roles can be filled by consumables, hirelings, and inventive thinking instead of forcing a player to obey team comps.
