About Invictus

I'm an older, more progressive minded gamer who likes to run free games. I played with a gaming group all my life up until the pandemic and now I play almost exclusively online, for better or worse. I grew up on Hero system (back when it was just called "Champions"), and I have a special place in my heart for that game, but have since moved on recognizing that level of math, grit and crunch just hasn't aged well in tabletop gaming. I found Savage Worlds and have made this system my home, embracing the "Fast, Fun and Furious" motto, and pulpiness of it all.

How Invictus runs games

I like classic Shakespearean structure to my plot point campaigns and I try to incorporate some kind of sandbox styling in it to allow players to shape things the way they want. I definitely do NOT consider myself a "forever GM", as running for long periods burns me out and I need to recharge. I also consider it very healthy and open minded to play in other peoples games to remind myself what I like and adapt to my own GMing style, hopefully bettering my games in a constant iterative process. I frequently do voices and frequently juxtapose horror settings with silly gameplay and characters to keep things tense but fun.

Especially online, no one wants to pause and wait for people to look up rules. At my table, it's a simple immediate judgement call by me and if there's any disagreements, can discuss in PM's or on discord after.
