About me
Hello, I'm Brian! (Chewie) With 2 years of consistent DM experience I consider myself a seasoned rookie and always learning! I enjoy DMing for newer players to help them learn to play! I try to promote a welcoming and accepting environment, and am always available if you have questions! We're all here to have fun! I love running mini-campaigns. I'm a fan of pre-written adventurers, but never run them exactly as written and look at them more as a foundation for our creativity to expand on the themes therein. The core of these adventures or 'their heart' are still in the forefront! 🧠🧠I have a neurodevelopmental disorder that impairs my memory and information processing. What this means is I occasionally blunder a rule, or have problems remembering the specifics of a spell or feat if used rarely. I strive to avoid this affecting my games, but be prepared for me to ask clarification or take 60 seconds to clarify a rule/spell from time to time!🧠🧠--------------------------------------------- Neurodivergent Players: It is my hope to provide a 'table' where fellow ND players can experience this hobby to its full potential! I encourage feedback on how we can adjust the aspects of your game so it better fits with the ND mind! I have resources/advice to aid in the TTRPG experience in my Discord, and am always open to more personalized advice! Never feel ashamed to ask for special resources or help. These games were developed with neurotypical people in mind, expect to make adjustments to tailor the game to your needs and expect these adjustments to be welcomed!
GM Style
I prefer around a 60/40 clip RP to Combat. I consider my usage of puzzles/riddles to be quite low, but I do utilize them on occasion. I run games of a more linear nature, but feel player agency is of utmost importance especially in a 'linear' campaign. I prefer to run heroic 'Tolkienesque' games, featuring a group of wanderers and heroes who work together to accomplish a common goal! I'm not big on wacky evil shenanigans but do like to have a laugh! (No murder ho-bos essentially) I love using visual aids, music, artwork and terrible voice acting in my games! My goal is to involve every character and ensure everyone has fun, as well as providing a balanced and inviting gaming experience for each player as an individual and as a cohesive party!
