I have 5 kids.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Working as an accountant, spending time with my family, worldbuilding.
How Chadwick runs games
I like to allow my players to worldbuild with me through their backstories and using their ideas to change the things that are not set in stone. I like to run a more difficult game than most since if there is no risk there is no reason to even play out the scenario.
Featured Prompts
I deal with rules issues by...
making a ruling on the spot and having a discussion in between sessions. If there is any conflict on the ruling for the first time I like to side with the player at the time and then the way we rule it might change after the rules discussion.
I prep by
getting a feel for what the players want to do in the next session. I then spend time making sure I have stat blocks in roll 20 for any potential combats. Then I plan any potential social encounters and make sure I have the proper maps ready and hidden with the correct fog of war and rereading recap
Rules are...
a great place to start. I like to start with rules as written and then go towards what will lead to the most fun.
Chadwick's ideal table
My table is relaxed and more about fun than a strict adherence to the rules. People who want to engage with the setting beyond what the dice say are my favorite kind of players. If you want to have fun and tell a story together you would be a great match.

I love it when a player
engages with more than just the combat. This could be tying their backstory to the campaign or an NPC. This could be trying to build a relationship after the fact with an NPC or trying to build a base or do anything beyond just combat.
I think metagaming...
Using knowledge your character would have no way of knowing in game. I assume that most adventurers would have some basic knowledge like we would so you can expect to know about trolls fire resistance and how to cure lycanthropy and other information like that.
I think min/maxing...
can be fun as long as it does not go to far. I am not opposed to when people optimize but am not a fun of "munchkin" or "meta" builds.
