About Cédric

Hi, I'm Cédric! A TTRPG enthusiast for 8+ years and a GM for 5, I love systems that tell a great story, from D&D 5e and PF2e to the grit of Shadowdark. I'm a chill GM who prefers story/adventure over slaughter. I enjoy roleplay and narrative (though go easy on my voices! or lack thereof) and specialize in adapting pre-written modules to different rulesets, giving classic adventures a fresh feel. I run games for groups of 4-8 players on Foundry VTT, using modules for video-game-style journals, maps, and a blend of tactical combat and Theater of the Mind. My goal is always to ensure a fun, smooth, and engaging experience for everyone at the table.

I got started GMing...

Because nobody else wanted to and it was the only way I could play. I kept GMing because I love watching how players solve problems, slay enemies and go through adventures.

My favorite system of all Time is

Shadowdark RPG. Granted I haven't experienced many systems, but this one ticks all my boxes and it's great for all pillars of TTRPG gaming.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Patient, prepared and adaptable.

How Cédric runs games

What to Expect in My Games A World to Explore: I run episodic journey's where you go from adventure to adventure. I weave your character's backstory wherever possible, creating a personalized experience filled with easter eggs and consequences. You won't start as a hero, but through your deeds, you will earn your legend. Gritty Tone & Pacing: The vibe can range from grim-dark peril to high-fantasy intrigue, but the constant is a grounded world where danger is real. Combat is tactical and can be lethal; sometimes the most heroic choice is to avoid a fight through clever roleplay or negotiation. When combat is inevitable, we use maps on FoundryVTT to bring the action to life. A Blend of Rules and Narrative: I run a 60% Rules-as-Written / 40% Rule of Cool game. The more descriptively you approach a challenge—whether trying to swing from a chandelier or intimidate a foe—the more likely you are to succeed. I encourage this through Luck Tokens, rewarding creative and descriptive play. Your Tool for Adventure: I use FoundryVTT supercharged with modules, providing you with a lore filled interface. You'll have access to a quest log, a bestiary to track your discoveries, achievements, and journals—all to deepen your connection to the world.

I deal with rules issues by...

if we can't agree on a ruling, we will let the decider die decide. Roll a d6, 3-6 we will use your ruling for the session and figure stuff out before the next one. I try to make decisions quickly and move on to keep the game moving.

My games focus on...

I always try to implement the three pillars of RPGs: Social, Exploration and Combat. If you like exploring and investigating dungeons, socializing with the townsfolk or even the creature you find in said dungeons, fast and lethal combat, loot and atmospheric music, my games are for you!

When it comes to voices

I don't have many in my repertoire and can't do accents. But I am always down to have RP moments.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

Slaying a white dragon, harvesting its scales, taking them to a blacksmith to craft you a White Dragon Scale Cloak that give you resistance to cold. Slaying a Banshee, harvesting its ectoplasm, taking it to an alchemist for them to craft you a vial where you can see into the Ethereal plane for 1h.

I love it when a player

Is creative and descriptive, a majority of the time no roll will be needed otherwise a get a luck token or advantage!

My table is not the place for...

Min/maxing or "Main Characters". Everyone is here to have fun, play as a team. Let's try and give everyone a turn in the spotlight and have some fun!
