About Cameron
I've had the honor of being a player when a DM is just starting out. Being there to help them get their feet wet and see how they develop. Watching as they present this world they've created and interact with the players who are now exploring it, living inside it and trying to grow within it. Seeing their NPC's brought to life and the overall experience of leading a game rather than playing through. Now, I'd like to flip the coin and go in from another side. I'd like to be a DM for new players i.e either they've stepped away for many many years and want to come back Or they've never played at all and want to try their hand at it. I understand that this would be more of a stepping stone and after a campaign, they'd jump to other games because they is the nature of the beast. However, a long-running campaign is what I'm purposing because one-shots are not really an interest of mine. I like to mix 5e and Homebrew, following the rules loosely depending on how the majority of the group feels about one rule verses another. With a healthy blend of Roleplaying and Combat, Character building and interacting, down time to do with what you wish in character and of course, discussing the gameplay afterwards to see what everyone thinks, how they wish to proceed, etc. I like weekly games myself; the day isn't usually an issue for me and I'm in Eastern Standard Time. So if the group comes to an agreement as a whole for what day and what time, we'll go with that. Plus, I like to run 4 hours or more per session to really get a good feel of the world. If this is something that you, as a new player, would like to join and explore, reach out and we'll talk.

How Cameron runs games
I enjoy a healthy mixture of RP and Combat, Character building/development, character interaction, downtime to explore and learn. Trying out different voices and different personalities for everyone the player encounter, including enemies because there's always room for conversation. I'm not strict or shy against humor or distress in certain situations, if it calls for laughter then let it happen, it if calls for anger, let that happen to. As for combat scenarios, they can drag on at times depending on how many are involved, so we'll try to get through it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Without taking away from the experience of it because combat can add excitement to the gameplay of it all whether things are going good or bad.
