About Brad

Retired teacher, actor, singer, and avid D&D DM and Player. Now that I have more time I want to share the stories in my mind with players at my table and have fun as we rewrite them.

I became a GM because

There are several reasons I DM. 1. My mind needs to be constantly active and there can be a lot of down time as a player. 2. I enjoy creating and telling stories. 3. I admit, I occasionally get frustrated playing under DMs who do not understand the rules as I see them.

My favorite system of all Time is

Dungeons and Dragons by far. Advanced D&D is where I started so it has a special place in my heart. Icewind Dale and the computer game are great. 4th edition had many good ideas and most of those were ported into 5E. Getting more and more familiar with 2024 version.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Delivering Grubhub and enjoying retirement with my dogs.

How Brad runs games

As I have DM'd, especially over the last couple of years, I have learned that fun is the name of the game and "the rule of cool" is probably best as long as the game stays fair. I actively seek to involve all players and randomly select players at the beginning of social encounters. I also recently created a set of cards called "The Hands of Fate" that help when questions of any kind arise at the table.

Brad's ideal table

My ideal table is filled with creative people who enjoy exploring their characters. I like it when players invest in their character and his/her background to the point that when conflict arises they know automatically what to do. It is also great to see players who want to interact with each other at least as much as they interact with the DM.
