About Ben Guest
I love TTRPGs! I have been playing D&D and other TTRPGs for about 15 years and I have been GMing for the last 6 years. I already GM professionally for three companies (Wizard Staffing Co, Rough Magic, and Chicago Role Players' Guild) but I wanted to expand my reach into the online world. In my years of GMing I have found that I really enjoy facilitating fun experiences for others and I love telling stories collaboratively. I went to collage to study acting and voiceover and I like to use what I learned along with my over 15 years of improv training to bring my stories and NPCs to life. I am friendly and respectful and so excited to GM for cool people!

I got started GMing...
I got started GMing by agreeing to co-GM with a friend for my college friend group. After a couple of sessions my co-GM got too busy and I took over as full GM and fell in love with GMing.
How Ben Guest runs games
I love role play and combat, and I try to find a balance to make my games 100% fun. I am comfortable running a variety of tones like funny, serious, or spooky. I mostly run D&D 5e but I also love more rules light systems like Dread and Lazars & Feeling. I will be using my voiceover training to do fun NPC voices and my improv training to adapt my plans to the actions of my players. I mostly like to run One-shots but I am very willing to do short campaigns as well. Also if your party wants to mix things up and learn about GMing, I teach a workshop about the basics of GMing TTRPGs.

Ben Guest's ideal table
I bring chill, friendly, and respectful vibes to my table and look for that in my players. My games are often a balance of light hearted and silly, and serious and dramatic. Players that can do both will thrive at my table. That being said, my table is for everyone. Beginners and veterans, role play lovers and combat lovers. If you can communicate with kindness and are excited to play, I am excited to GM for you!

I think min/maxing...
I think min/maxing is fine as long as being good in combat or trying to pass every check is not your only focus. As long as you care about the story and aren't always stealing the spotlight from your fellow players, you can optimize your character all you want.
