About Barberbarian
Since the Basic Red Box, I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons and have followed every edition throughout my life. From the very beginning, building and exploring worlds alongside friends drew me in and captured my imagination. In my D&D-themed shop, I work as a barber and have the unique pleasure of talking with gamers all day. My oldest books line the walls, while Beholder posters fill the ceiling. Storytelling is my passion, and I love creating collaborative adventures. A few years ago, I began to drift away from D&D — until I discovered Shadowdark. This game reignited my love for tabletop roleplaying, giving my games the classic feel I’ve always cherished while opening new possibilities for creativity and adventure. Now, I’m turning to online gaming to meet new players and craft stories in worlds full of peril, mystery, and heroism. If you share a passion for storytelling and adventure, I invite you to join me online—let’s create unforgettable tales together.

My favorite books are
The Dune series and any and all Conan the barbarian novels.
My favorite shows/movies are
My favorite fantasy film is Conan the Barbarian, which I feel captures the truest essence of epic fantasy — raw, perilous, and immersive. Solomon Kane comes close, with a darker, Warhammer-like tone in its visuals and story. Perfume also appeals to me, with its unsettling atmosphere and visuals.
How Barberbarian runs games
I love running gritty adventures, and Shadowdark captures that spirit perfectly. In my world, humanity dominates, while orcs are a lurking, ever-evil threat. The last demi-human kingdoms are dwindling, clinging to survival. Here, roleplay shapes your fate as much as swordplay. Your character’s story matters—bring depth to your background, and I’ll weave it into the heart of the campaign. Magic is scarce, danger is real, and clever thinking is your best weapon. This is not a game for reckless looting; every dungeon is a mystery, every choice has weight. Expect to split your time between delving into ancient ruins, navigating tense social encounters, and braving the wilds. You’ll gather rumors in smoky taverns, pore over old maps, and set out into the unknown. My aim is to test your wits and forge a true party. Treasure is hard-won, and you’ll want to keep your torches close. I use a few house rules, like death at 0 HP, but I reward bold ideas—describe something well, and you might just pull it off. Sometimes, your class, race, or backstory will open doors that others cannot. Above all, survival depends on teamwork.

I once ran a session...
where the final boss was actually one of the players, he didnt even know until two days earlier when I was cutting his hair and asked him if he would be the actual bad guy.
My games focus on...
exploration and dungeon crawling. Finding secrets and loot as well as gaining fame or notoriety.
Rules are...
light and should be seen as guidelines. when confronted with a situation, dont waste time digging up rules, instead go with what sounds cool and makes sense then look it up later.Rule of cool.
Barberbarian's ideal table
For my ideal game table, I like having a mix of different player types to make things more interesting. I really appreciate having a dedicated rules lawyer, or as I call them, a Sub-DM. Someone with experience running and playing games can help clarify rules, answer questions, and keep things moving. Since I often get caught up in roleplay and lose track of what's happening, this kind of support is really helpful. I also like having a mapper, someone who creates the player’s map and helps everyone feel more immersed in the game. Having a notetaker is just as important to me. Notes often help the group get past tough encounters, so I really depend on someone to keep good records. A caller or leader is also important. This person makes final decisions and guides the group, which helps the game run smoothly and keeps things moving. It cuts down on indecision and keeps the adventure going. Finally, I love having a wild player at the table. Someone who’s willing to jump off a cliff to attack Cthulhu with an axe, screaming a battlecry. That kind of unpredictable energy and boldness makes the game fun and unforgettable.
