About me

Hello! My name is Brian, and I am new to StartPlaying. I began playing D&D v3.5 with a small group of friends after coming home from school. At that time, we did not possess any of the books, which forged my chaotic but original worlds, stories, enemies, and encounters. With everything currently shifting to a remote world, this has brought a few changes to me as a DM. I have begun making my own scenes and maps original to my games as I feel that a visual element adds an extra level of depth to virtual tabletop.

GM Style

I enjoy a good level of roleplay and puzzles, but most of my ability revolves around fun and engaging tactical combat. I prefer playing with newer players but can handle any level of experience.

Brian is an excellent GM and paints an incredibly vivid picture when narrating. He allows for a lot of player creativity and is great at improv, since we definitely threw some wild situations at him as players.

I have played in two campaigns of Brian's for at least a year on going and highly recommend him. In addition to what I tagged above, I would also include that Brian does good voices, and he maintains a balance of knowing the rules but does allow for coolness and creativity. He is very good with giving all players a fair shake. He does his own maps which are great. He is laid back and gets along with everyone at the table which is important for the DM. He will work whatever backstory you have to fit into his world which is rich and interesting.

One of my favorite parts about him being a DM for me was how much he was willing to work with me on constructing magic items or custom races/classes. His stories are exciting and definitely a blast especially if a goblin warlock decides to shoot a fireball at you!

Brian is an awesome DM who has created fun and interesting worlds to explore. These worlds contain a variety of amazing characters from the most beloved allies to the evilest villains. Each character feels distinct with their own goals and personalities, even having their own voices to match. There is never a dull moment in his games, always giving the party different options and letting them choose what they want to do. The way Brian runs combat always has you thinking about what's going to happen next. He allows for his players to come up with crazy solutions to problems they face and occasionally throwing in different mechanics to spice up the game. In essence, Brian has created some of the most memorable moments in all of my time playing TTRPGs.

Brian is a great DM! He custom makes some awesome worlds, NPCs, enemies and unique maps too. I have played with Brian as the DM for around 3 years. He knows the ins and outs of roll20, and creates a fun and helpful experience for his players (new or experienced) whether at the table or virtual. He has a great understanding of the RAW, but also knows when to implement the rule of cool to keep a session fun and very interesting.
