About Megan
I'm a lifelong RPG enthusiast with experience in AAA video games and a sincere commitment to creating multifaceted, story-driven games. From science fiction to horror, comedy to calamity, I collaborate with the players at the table to craft an engaging story using the systems they prefer. My current interests are in Candela Obscura, Daggerheart and Blades in the Dark.

I got started GMing...
At university with classmates. As a fun fact, my Bachelor of Game Design program had a class dedicated to 'paper prototyping', which is a form of board game design.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Blades in the Dark, Coriolis and Vampire: The Masquerade 5E
When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing for games.
How Megan runs games
I collaborate with the players at the table to craft an engaging story using the systems they prefer. I lean into story-driven sessions and call on players to attach meaning to their characters' interactions with the world. NPCs have motivations and goals, and the world responds to the choices players make at the table. I'm a massive fan of the players and will set up challenging encounters that encourage them to utilise the system's mechanics to get out of trouble.

I deal with rules issues by...
I'll hear out rule challenges logically, but I'm not about to dive into rules lawyering or hold up a session for it. If that's a problem, I encourage folks to find that fighter. It ain't me.
I prep by
Writing up the topline narrative hooks for a session, then filling the world with cool little folks who inspire, enrage, and engage player characters.
When it comes to voices
I learn the language of the dialect I'm trying to emulate. Maximum effort ftw.
Megan's ideal table
Players who are engaged in role-playing and work well in a team will fit right in at my table. If you want lore? I've got lore. If you want impactful scenes and scenarios? You're covered here. If you have the urge to punch up at oppressive forces and make things better? My friend, I've got you. I also heartily endorse and actively use safety tools - lines and veils, x cards and scene rewrites are all standard tools I implement at my table, and the content rating never goes above MA15.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
engaging worlds, mysteries, and committed roleplaying
I love it when a player
engages with the world and scenario I put in front of them. If they, as a player, care about the world state and NPCs, I've done my job.
My table is not the place for...
Rules lawyering or min-maxing. I run narratively driven games, so if you want more crunch, go find the crunch fans.
