About Ark The Dungeon Master
Greetings Travelers! I'm Ark My table is new player friendly and welcome all types of players to our table, and LGBTQ+ Friendly. So no matter what kind of player or person you are you'll be welcomed at the table. I personally has 14+ years of experience running Dungeons and Dragons Games since around the time of 3.5e Going over 4e and OG 5e while playing around with World of Darkness systems and pathfinder. I tend to have more of a laid back and chill personality that plays any and all kind of games, TTRPGs Video Games, Board games. If you name it he has probably played it.

I got started GMing...
Like a lot of other people did. I was the only one in my friend group in highschool that was actually willing to take on the role. Annnnnd the role stuck with me as the forever GM of all my play groups.
People are always surprised when I tell them
I was home schooled for a good portion of my life. And because of that, TTRPGs are what my mother used to help me and my brother learn creative writing, English, and Math.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Crafting adventures in other mediums. Either in indie game dev scene just making small little games to play around with or hosting an ongoing roleplay server on pre-existing games I.E. Conan Exiles.
How Ark The Dungeon Master runs games
My main policies as DMs đRoleplay first: my style emphasizes and facilitates roleplay, the assistance in combat encounters are simply a neat side effect :D đRule of cool is cool: I appreciate my players being creative, and aim to make you feel cool as frick. âď¸Fast and Fluid combat: I pride myselves on fast, fluid, and engaging combat encounters. Hard enough to offer a fun challenge but no so difficult where new players can't have fun too. âCharacter engagement: I like to encourage and incorporate our player characters backstory in all my games even prewritten modules.

I deal with rules issues by...
making a quick ruling and moving onward with a rules correction between sessions rather than delaying the game just to go through a rulebook for hours.
I once ran a session...
And the entire party got to make a team attack finisher sequence on the boss that had recently killed a beloved party member. Letting each one of them get their lick in so to speak for shared satisfaction over avenging their fallen party member
Rules are...
bend and breakable. They are meant to facilitate fun, not restrict it. And if they get in the way of the fun, it can be changed altered or disregarded on a per table basis.
Ark The Dungeon Master's ideal table
Roleplayers and silly little dudes tend to have a great time at my table. I encourage creativity in the limitations of the game. A lot of players tend to be afraid to make character archetypes to far out of the "chosen class fantasy" but I always tell everyone that flavor is free, and your story can be whatever you want.

I love it when a player
Takes initiative (HA!) to ask questions and have goals outside of what I describe to them in a scene. I'm a GM who will more often than not "Yes and/but" whatever idea's players come at me with.
I think metagaming...
is Contextual. There are degrees of metagaming that is needed for a fun and safe experience at the table. But if you literally say to me "Oh Strahd only has 144 HP I can take him." this is not the table for you.
I think min/maxing...
Acceptable so long as their is a character behind the numbers. Having a strong character always will feel awkward without the character part of that mixture.
