How Jarvin runs games
I feel that my GM style caters very much to what the players want. Having GM'd for home games, as well as time sensitive sessions for Pathfinder Society, I can meet all the ranges. Time permitting, I will milk out the roleplay and character voices. One of the things I endeavor to do is help my players be immersed in the narrative of the game. Descriptions to help paint the world that we're playing in are what I also try to build upon. I feel I enjoy combat and am fairly skilled at running games that include combats. Making sure that there's narrative to help put meanings behind the numbers are things I like to do to emphasize that you rolled good damage. "The staff cracks against the bandit's skull, then explodes with lightning, momentarily causing his body to spasm." But I also know that players may not care too much about it, and I am skilled at summarizing combats and outcomes when it needs to happen. As a teacher, I'm always open to feedback, and learning from my players. If they express certain things they like and dislike, I will find ways to implement it as seamlessly as possible. Sometimes I will ask my players if they're interested in trying something slightly different to see if they actually like something they've never done before. "Hey, mind if I do some secret checks to really help you play your character?" And making sure there's always an open dialogue. Communication is key in everything! I hope I've communicated what type of GM I am.

Rules are...
There to formalize a set of boundaries, as well as facilitate story creation. If neither of those are produced, they should be changed for the sake of a good TTRPG experience.
