About Alyx the DM
Greetings, Adventurers! I am Alyx the DM, here to satisfy your fantasy needs. I've been playing TTRPGs for several years, and for the last 3, I've been DM. I started on DnD 3.5e before moving primarily to homemade systems devised by myself and my friends, before slowly moving to 5e. Dark fantasy campaigns are my favorite, but I also enjoy high fantasy and sci-fi, and I especially love making curated experiences for my players. After all, YOU are the main character in my world. My favorite books are
I love all sorts of fantasy and science fiction! For fantasy there's series like The Wheel of Time, The Inheritance Cycle, Lightbringer, and the Night Angel Trilogy. And in science fiction, there are works like Red Rising and Dune. I'm also a fan of Lovecraft's works (not so much the man himself).

How Alyx the DM runs games
I love role-playing and flavorful combat, but I usually avoid puzzles. My favorite thing in every campaign is giving my players just enough information to piece together whats going on behind the scenes, and they go "Oh my God what!?" My second favorite thing in every campaign is seeing where my players take the plot. I give almost every NPC a different voice, and hold the Rule of Cool in very high regard; if you want to do something, I will probably let you try, as long as you have some idea of how to do it.
Alyx the DM's ideal table
I like a lot of roleplay in my games, whether its in the market trying to haggle for a potion, or in combat casting a spell. Inter-player character talk and banter is also terrific! Anyone who likes roleplay can thrive at my table, especially newcomers! Players who take the time to read and understand what their class does are always so much fun to have at my table, but I'm always more than willing to help my players figure something out. I love detailed player backstories! The more detailed it is, the better I'll be able to work it into the plot, and maybe even an entire arc, depending on the backstory and adventure. Generally, the vibe at my table is what you would want of a DnD party; cracking jokes while somebody does something ridiculous to take out an enemy or obstacle in a way I never could have foreseen. Taking notes is recommended.
