Hello there! I am an old nerd, I have 2 kids and 0 dogs, and I am bad at writing about myself. I used to play and run games of AD&D 2e and Shadowrun 3e back in high school. Then I took a short break of about 20 years and now I have been back in the game for a while! I am a sucker for a good story, and I like challenging encounters (combat or otherwise). I run games via Foundry VTT (free for players) and Discord (for voice and optional video). In person games are possible if you can provide a location for them in my area.

How alterNERDtive runs games

I like playing to the strengths of the system. D&D and Lancer feature complex tactical combat, so the emphasis will lie there. That does not mean there will be no roleplaying, and I like to come up with mechanics to facilitate roleplay encounters (or steal them from other systems). Mothership on the other hand is far more rules-light, with short but deadly combat encounters. Most of the time will be spent roleplaying and exploring. As a rule of thumb I would rather have a session with no combat encounters than spend several sessions in a row doing nothing but that. Above all, though … let’s have fun!
