About Rob Smith
Hi! I grew up playing AD&D but fell away from it as life moved me on. I recently began playing again with 5E, with a local group, and now have a renewed passion for roleplaying. I have been playing now for over 2 years and have DM'd hybrid in-person/online games for the last 1.5 years. I am also currently running a Play-by-Post Blades in the Dark game through Discord. The games have been a blast so far and I'm hoping to use some of my free time to continue improving and to bring some fun, quality adventures to others. I'm interested in hosting Fabula Ultima, Blades in the Dark and Heart, in addition to D&D 5E. I currently live overseas, so I'm able to devote my mornings to host games in the evenings for folks in the US.

How Rob Smith runs games
I try to encourage players to get into their characters; developing a good personality, and possibly a voice. I know that strong roleplay isn't what everyone is looking for, so players can get as into character as they want, so long as they are still enjoying themselves. I also enjoy exciting combat, where players get excited to describe their actions/attacks and respond well to my descriptions of the action. Depending on the group, we could get super tactical and specific or stay relatively relaxed, the primary focus is on what the group enjoys most. My favorite part of TTRPGs is seeing the unique ways that people approach the same issue or challenge, and find sometimes crazy, hilarious or incredibly awesome ways to deal with them. I love nothing more than when my players challenging me as a GM. I hope we can enjoy some great adventures together!
