About me
Hey there! I'm Jon, a dungeon master, who is an experienced DM and an amateur creator/streamer. If you're into creating stories, making those around you laugh, and exploring ideas that we normally miss out on in life, then do I have a deal for you! For what time we have together, I only want it to be positive. In line with this goal, I try to go through a vetting process that lets you become familiar with me, and I with you. During that time, we’ll introduce ourselves, establish clear boundaries, and make sure that when it comes time to play, you’re not blindsided by who I am, or vice versa. I run most things nearly exclusively through Roll20 and Discord. I make my own maps, and have a wide variety of tokens and content from the Roll20 website, allowing for us a slightly more immersive experience than what many real-life tables could provide. Finally: I will give you challenges and the drama those in my clown college crave. I will always try to meet people where they’re at, but as I am on the quest to improve myself and the games I run, I will expect and hope you too are trying to experience new things. Thanks for reading, and hope to play with you soon!
GM Style
Usually 60/40 Roleplay/Combat split. I enjoy the depth of mechanics, and try to marry mechanics to the narrative world we share. I kill many player characters - but I do not murder player characters in cold blood. I will meet you wherever you are at, and give you the experience of playing in a 'living world.' I'm also a clown, and if you're not having fun or if I can't make you laugh in the first ten minutes, I will refund you your money.

Jon is a DM that puts in a serious amount of effort to make his world engaging as well as being heavily interweaved with the story. He makes every session as entertaining for everyone as much as he can. He knows the best time to be humorous, making everyone laugh in even the most down trodden of moments. He is serious about keeping the game flowing, well aware of the time commitments each person is putting into the game to play. In essence he knows what he's doing, and is wanting to have a fun time with people that are willing to have fun with others.
If you enjoy a DM who brings a VERY extensive homebrew world with many colorful characters and where actions have consequences (Don't sleep on the bridge!), then this could be the game for you. The setting has various areas with different styles to them: from the typical dnd faux-medieval stuff of the city of blinding lights, to the industrial revolution style of Thorizor, to the weird craziness that is... well pretty much everywhere. The game is sometimes goofy, the names are rarely Tolkien-esque, and you can't play a warforged artificer, but if none of that bothers you then for a good time call Jon the Dungeonmaster.
After playing with Jon for over a year, I have become deeply involved with the world he's created, the changes that other players make in that world, and the way that the world--Changes my character. Every session catches me by surprise as each new npc is fully realized with their own quirky back story, and a lot of crazy ideas are rewarded--in completely surprising ways mind you--and at the end of the day, I look forward to the next session. You know that crazy kookie uncle that bends the rules *just a little* so you can have a sip of something you ain't supposed to? Jon's that uncle, and we love him for it. Great at character combat, voices, and keeping your characters goals/actions in mind. There is no shortage of Role play, but keep in mind the other players, it is a communal game after all.
Jon is excellent at building a world and story and buying his player in to the wider going ons in the world. It can be a lot to figure out but each step of the way leaves you wanting to know more. He is also one of the most funny GMs I've ever played with, while simultaneously being very serious about his topics and world.
