I became a GM because
I love bringing worlds to life. For the longest time I have just brainstormed quest ideas, worlds, scenarios and never did anything with them. So I started running tabletop games to bring those ideas to life that I believe other people will enjoy as well.
My favorite books are
Warhammer 40k, specifically ones regarding the Imperial Guard. However I think the oldest series I have been a fan of is the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. Once you get past the first book where he introduces maybe too much at once it really takes off.
When I'm not running games I'm...
usually painting miniatures, playing video games, watching horror movies or playing in a TTRPG myself.
How Sean runs games
My GM style I feel varies depending on the group. I have ran high stakes combat where one wrong move can mean the end, large scale warfare where kingdoms rise and fall, or relaxed social scenarios where people discuss their ideas and plans or just get to know one another in character. Above all however, what ties everything together is the Rule of Cool. If the idea sounds awesome and the group is behind it we can forget some little rule just to make that moment happen.

I once ran a session...
where a player simply left the BBEG fight. It was a mini campaign where they made characters from whatever universe they wanted and were pulled into this one. Their only goal was to get home, so at the BBEG fight after the big speech they asked "Can you just let us go home?" and it said yes.
I prep by
depending on the system but I look at where the party is currently at and build in sort of a spiral around them. That way if they go somewhere unplanned theres usually something that can fit in. If they need to do something important maybe that place just... shifts towards where they go.
Rules are...
more like guidelines than actual rules. In fact a certain system specifies that in it's Master's book that rules can be RAW or tossed out however you like. I like to find a balance with the party.
