About me
Since I was able to reach the pieces on the board, I've been playing tabletop games. Checkers, Chess, Monopoly, Sorry, Risk, Stratego, Othello, Scrabble, Boggle, Life, and Candy Land are all staples of my life. Now, as a "grown-up", I'm happy to say Dungeons and Dragons has taken its place at the table, as well. I never thought DnD would Though I've only been properly introduced to the game in the last few years, I've immersed myself into the lore, gameplay, and community surrounding the world's most popular TTRPG. Thanks in equal parts to a popular TV series and a group of well-known "nerdy @$$ voice actors" streaming their private game online, it didn't take long for me to fall in love with DnD. As the usual host of my friend group's game nights, I was immediately intrigued by the amount of preparation and creativity which goes into running a game of DnD. Sure, you can purchase a pre-set adventure but, even still, there is an incredible amount of improvisation and on-the-fly world creation the GM must contend with while running an exciting campaign. Dice rolling, monster hunting, and role playing all while tracking the actions (and their consequences) of a party of adventurers: what better challenge could there be for a lifelong gamer? I am certainly new to the game, both as a player and GM, but I promise to give my players the best experience I am capable of providing. "Anything worth doing is worth doing well" and running a compelling and exciting game is no exception. I hope any of my players can be comfortable giving feedback (critical or otherwise) in order for me to improve as a GM and, in turn, improve their experience as a player. I am looking for new AND experienced players who are looking to share in the infinite fun of DnD! - Blake P.S. ANY AND ALL PLAYERS ARE WELCOME... but I am particularly interested in having lifelong GMs play in my games in order to get some 'behind the scenes' feedback as well.
GM Style
I am both a player and a novice GM looking for new and experienced players to join me for a friendly, beginner-level campaign experience! New player looking to learn the rules as we play? We're in this together! Experienced players in search of a 'back to basics' game? C'mon down. Lifelong GM wanting to adventure with the party? Come show off for us! I want us to all have a fun, compelling, and immersive game experience! To be sure each of us gets the very most enjoyment out of the game, there will be plenty of dice-rolling opportunities for things like combat, athleticism, tinkering, and potioneering along with interactive role play to keep the game grounded in the fantasy realms we're all exploring! As GM, I will often use a character voice or make silly noises to recreate the sounds of the scenery and encourage you all to participate, as well! That said, you should feel free to role-play your character as you see fit. Maybe you're a fit fighter with your own voice but have ulterior motives. Perhaps you'll play as an old, blind monk who swore a vow of silence. Roleplay can be so much more than just silly voices and sound effects. The more immersive we all are, the more compelling experience we get! DISCLAIMERS: The games I plan to run will include occasional uses of, descriptions of, and allusions to blood and gore, sexual encounters, and foul language. At no time during games will I, as your GM, or any of my players use any language or subject matter which is offensive to another group member. If any player would like to add any 'hard lines' or 'veils' to the game (content or subject matter you'd like to avoid completely or avoid) please, let me know. You will never be intentionally subjected to or asked to role-play in any way which might make you feel uncomfortable.
