About me

With nearly 2k hours logged into Roll20 and a number of adventures under my belt, I am an experienced DM who enjoys designing engaging sessions and building a joint story. I got introduced to D&D via liveplay podcasts and enjoying other ttrpg's with friends. As friends began moving away from our city we began adding online boardgames to our rotation and eventually I was introduced to 5e through joining several games. Eventually I took the plunge and began DM'ing for groups or friends then eventually groups of strangers met on LFG forums. My games are low price because I'm really just trying to cover the costs of my D&D habit while also offering to share the hobby with new folks.

GM style

I believe that Roll20 is capable of creating a gamified and immersive experience far beyond what most comparison videos would have you believe. I make creative use of API scripts and macros to streamline play and improve your experience. I strive for balance among the three pillars of DnD: combat, roleplay, and exploration. I base session encounters on what is most appropriate in terms of immediate objectives or events and what has been perhaps less of a focus in recent weeks. While I think tactical combat is always a fun and rewarding part of D&D I generally prefer for characters to be built with a "story-first" approach rather than min-maxing without real purpose other than big numbers. I believe that a game should be tailored around the choices and consequences of the players as they relate to a central tension. As I continue to DM, I'll begin adding more resources and automation to roll20 sheets to continue to streamline the dnd process so everyone can focus on the most important part of D&D... Having Fun!
