About me

Hello! My name is Levi and I've been playing Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition since its release in 2014, most of that time being spent as a DM. I'm a 33 year old father of two that lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of the United States. I love the role-play aspect of DnD, namely seeing characters develop from a level one to someone with a rich backstory that directly ties into their actions during the campaign and the twists and turns that happen along the way. My bread and butter is "theater of the mind" style play, but I like to utilize battle maps and other visuals to enhance immersion when necessary as well as music, ambient sounds, and relevant props. I like to keep a more serious, character focused tone during game time but that definitely does not exclude room for fun and humor when appropriate.

GM Style

Dungeons & Dragons is a collaborative exercise where both the players and the DM work together to tell a story that will be remembered long after the campaign has concluded. My number one rule is every action you make should take the fun and enjoyment of everybody else at the table first, and your own second. Just a simple shift in mindset ensures that all participants have a good time! Roleplay is my favorite aspect of D&D's three pillars and I strive to create an immersive world that lives, breathes, and responds to the character's actions or inactions. Player's should feel that their character's actions matter and have real consequence to the progression of events. Minor combats are resolved with theater of the mind or sometimes a more narrative approach, while major fights will make use of battle maps for tactical decision making. Even though I started playing table top RPGs with D&D 5th edition, I greatly enjoy the old school mantra "rulings over rules". The rules should act as a framework to facilitate fun and drive the action forward instead of hindering player's creativity. Clever interactions with the environment and out of the box thinking should be rewarded instead of bogged down by rules as written limitations. I take everybody's enjoyment and comfortability at the table very seriously. Games are inclusive to people of all walks of life, and nobody should be made to feel singled out. I'm available at all times to discuss any issues that may arise. Have questions? Please don't hesitate to reach out and ask!
