About me

BJ has been playing D&D 5e for more than 3 years, DMing for 2+, and enjoys every minute of it. After buying the starter set in 2015, he convinced a group of 8 friends to play in 2018, and never looked back. A quick wit and tons of homebrew ideas, BJ is the right DM for you! After COVID hit, the game moved online using Discord and Roll20. The games have evolved, but the fun has only increased! BJ is inclusive, creative, and strives to include all 3 pillars of TTRPGs (Combat, Exploration, and Roleplay) in each session he runs.

GM style

I enjoy all aspects of GMing. I'm an amateur voice artist, so I love doing voices for roleplaying. I also make it a point to highlight combat moves for dramatic effect, creating an immersive experience for everyone's actions. If we're not having fun, we're not doing it right! I do initiative in a different way for my current homebrew, and have found it to create exhilarating combat runs that drastically speed up 5e combat during sessions. (Group initiative, PCs vs. Enemies with a roll each turn) Using this system creates epic swings in the battles, and really forces the group to act as one and communicate more openly - and it's fun!
