I have played TTRPG's for 14 years and it is still my favourite hobby! I primarily play 5e and I love bringing new people into the game. Don't be concerned about your previous experience or what someone else is doing. Create and develop your own character and play in a way that is fun to you, while being respectful of others. I usually play existing modules so you can be sure you're receiving a well-rounded, consistent experience. I do use a few homebrew rules and creations but this would be discussed and players would be informed before changes are made. There are no T.R.A.S.H.Y. players or actions. (Saw this somewhere else and loved it) T -> Transphobic R -> Racist A -> Ableist S -> Sexist H -> Homophobic Y -> Yeetable (poor choices not necessarily related to discrimination) Racism, misogyny, discrimination of any kind and bullying are not tolerated

How Liam (1in20ttg) runs games
I prefer a mix of role-playing and combat, and I'll make adjustments based on what the players want. I have no objections to players pursuing nonviolent alternatives to battle, but keep in mind that there are limits to what words can do and NPC's have their own objectives. The key focus of my games is everyone having a good time and a chance to explore their own character in depth. Each player will have personal goals and quests that will be tied into the campaign itself.
