About Sable
My journey into GMing started at 8, listening to my mom talk about her D&D adventures. At 10, she ran Holmes Basic for me. Through my teens, friends and I took turns trying different systems, exploring a range of genres and rules sets. That experience gave me a range of skills and tools I could use behind the screen. And I learned how different systems could support very different stories. The Vampire LARP “Old Pueblo by Night” in Tucson became my proving ground. Despite my fears about my ability to run an engaging game for a player base of about 30 payers, my best friend convinced me to sign up to be co-Storyteller in our rotating storyteller structure. Those two years - managing faction intrigue, shaping long-term character arcs, and handling player conflicts - boosted my confidence and taught me how to weave player choices into living, breathing worlds. Later experiences deepened that foundation: a brief Amber Diceless game gave me new tools to explore emergent storytelling, co-founding a One World by Night Sabbat game in Tucson showed me I had a knack for getting games of the ground, and running a 4-year 5e campaign reignited my passion for the craft. Each taught me something new about creating space where player agency drives emergent storytelling. For over 40 years, role playing games have been a creative outlet. I enjoy envisioning scenarios, watching players surprise me with brilliant solutions, and building worlds that remember and respond.

How Sable runs games
After 40+ years gaming and GMing, I enjoy making living worlds which remember player choices and respond with consequences. I create player-driven narratives where character choices becomes story foundation. My table celebrates queer joy and welcomes marginalized communities with inclusive space. I blend genres (cosmic horror meets cozy taverns!), weave faction intrigue with meaningful resource management, and ensure every choice ripples through a breathing world. I bring cross-system mastery while seeking to prioritize story over mechanics. Whether dungeon crawling, political scheming, or survival adventures, I use consent tools and clear boundaries to create safe space for creative risks. In my games, player creativity meets a world ready to be transformed by character choices. For me, the best stories emerge when GMs and players trust the collaborative magic and follow the threads together - merging player choice, plots points, authentic consequences, and emergent legend-making.
