About me

Games are meant to be fun. That's the bottom line, really. People don't want to be TOLD a story. They don't want to be locked on rails. That's not fun. What's fun is playing a role in the world around you. A significant role. It's being a hero (or a villain), and being recognized for that. It's about your characters having an impact. When I run campaigns, I do it by building a world for others to play in. A world that is as deep and complex as I can make it, full of opportunities to interact and things to do. Then I let the players do what they want. I build plots based on backstories, on the actions that you take, on the roleplay that you do, and on the things you say in what company. By the time we're done, we have a story. A real story, complete with the drama, the intrigue, and the fun of watching a movie or reading a great book. But a story that YOU create, that you guide, that you play an active role in. I do accents when I run games. And voices where I can. I encourage roleplay, but also know how to crunch the game. If systematic rules aren't your thing, we can come up with simplified ways to hand it. We're not here to follow the rules as written. They're a guideline. The important thing is what YOU enjoy. What makes the game fun?

GM Style

I love roleplay. I love character voices, especially from players. Tactical combat makes more sense to me. But while combat is important, the story is more important. And the most important, of course, is that game should be fun. I believe in the Rule of Cool: a player feeling awesome is, usually, more important than following the rules.
