Wild Beyond the Witchlight - An Adventure of Carnival Lights and Fey Delights is a game for the DND adventure module Wild Beyond the Witchlight. Wild Beyond the Witchlight begins with the arrival of a traveling event called the Witchlight Carnival. Each player character has lost something when visiting the carnival in the past, a thing they seemed to have forgotten entirely until one fateful day the Carnival returns. On its return, you feel drawn to the spectacle once more by a nagging lucid feeling that you lost something the last time you visited. Thrust into a mystery of missing memories the players must keep their wits about them as they try to find what they have lost in the topsy turvy carnival and uncover a dark secret plaguing its colorful tents.

How to prepare
How to prepare If playing digitally players will need: 1. a webcam 2. a mic 3. a DND Beyond account [recommended for character creation] If players wish to play via TaleSpire all players must have the program installed and available, but if people prefer a free online platform Roll20 will be used. If a different digital service for battle maps (when they are required) is requested that can be discussed. If playing in person characters need to print out or have a readily accessible digital version of their character sheets available, but other game components will be supplied by myself. Characters will be created in session 0 for those who wish to do it collectively but you are welcome to create them before. A document with brief descriptions of locations in Sanctuary will be provided but it is optional to read and only for reference. New players are welcome and game rules will be explained through the process of playing the game, but a reading of the DND 5E Players handbook is recommended.

How will character creation work
All characters will start at level 1. Character creation will happen via DND Beyond to facilitate ease of access to character sheets and sharing/giving players items. Players are free to use other character creation systems though any items given will be sent as a separate file. Character creation will happen together in session 0 so that safety tools can be discussed, though players are welcome to create characters beforehand if they wish as well. Players are welcome to be from any of the locations in Sanctuary that are provided, and if they have a specific background or backstory they wish to include the setting will be adjusted as much as possible to allow for players to play what they want to play. All players will receive a free feat at character creation because it is fun and the rule of cool is important!
