About the adventure

Uncover disturbing Eldritch horrors of a cursed forest town. Find out what's behind Ravenswood's sense of intense "wrongness", uncovering its dark history and the uncanny abilities of the locals in these grimdark adventures with battle maps. Located in a hilly forest of tall, ancient redwoods which shade out much of the sunlight and constantly drip with water down to the forest floor below, this small, dark town is partially abandoned. Once a booming mining town, Ravenswood's elegant houses are now mostly boarded up, ever since the mines were shut down because of a deadly poison gas filling the tunnels. Will you uncover the source of the horrors in Ravenswood, and put an end to it? Or will you succumb to its dark temptations, making the same choice the town's original settlers made? Grimdark sessions, discover and struggle through disturbing morally gray scenarios. (Session 1 teaser summary) In a remote town surrounded by a dark redwood forest, children have mysteriously vanished, leaving the villagers in fear. Several adventurers arrive to investigate the unsettling disappearances. As they dig deeper, they uncover powerful forces that may hold the key to the mystery. The adventurers must confront a terrifying monster to save the town and make crucial choices with far-reaching consequences. The mystery unravels, revealing secrets that challenge their understanding of reality and the true source of the disturbances. The players are intended to explore the town, meet its people, and uncover the mysteries within. It is heavily roleplay oriented, with skill checks involved to keep the game lively. There is little combat, but the combat is story dynamic for the purpose of excitement and thrill (so the game isn't held up for a very long time just so the rounds keep going) unless the party requests otherwise. ------ If you enjoy Love Craftian Horror, then this game may be for you. I expect the players to hold respect for each other and each other's interests while at my table. You don't have to like them or agree, but belittlement and unwarranted confrontation are not tolerated. Please be mindful so everyone can have a fun time in a safe place. Please note that this is a Mini-Campaign so the players can enjoy the conclusion of a campaign. But there is potential for me to continue the character's adventure into another campaign in the future if the feedback is well. For that possibility, this will be a level two to three mini-campaign.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players are expected to have their own Discord account already made with a mic available for chatting. As well as a PC or laptop with internet access to use Foundry through the link provided.

What I provide

I will provide all players with a link to the game already made within Foundry VTT, where you will have access to player sheets, dice, rules, maps, etc.

Gameplay details

A link to the RPG Consent List is provided here and will be sent to you to be completed at Session 0, but preferably before the game starts so that everyone can have a comfortable time while having fun. During the game, X, N, and O cards will be provided as tokens that can be anonymously brought forward by anyone to signal to everyone how a player is feeling uncomfortable or not so that everyone can stop or feel free to move forward. In times when these cards aren't available, players can whisper or DM me if they feel like the scene is moving in a direction they feel uncomfortable with. I have an Open Door policy, so if anyone feels like they must take a break from the game for their well-being, they can do so at any time, and I will ensure there is no judgment passed around because of it. So please care about yourself first and foremost and feel comfortable doing so. After the session is over, I will ask if anyone needs to chat or decompress within the safe environment of the table. I will also ask if everyone would be willing to provide feedback for the game. Identifying issues and working through potential interference or emotional bleed into the game. As well as any "stars and wishes" or the good parts of the game that everyone particularly enjoyed and things the players wish they could see in any future games of mine. How will character creation work

Characters will start at level 2 and be created within the Foundry game during Session 0. This process may vary depending on how many players decide to use the pre-made, provided characters already available and how extensive help is needed when making their sheets.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
