About the adventure

Who are the Sisters of the Vital Communion and why have they reached out to you and your crew to investigate the haunting of their priory? According to local rumors, the priory has been the site of hauntings and other paranormal activity for centuries. Why have they chosen to reach out now? Of course, you are the best. You've got state of 1970s art paranormal research equipment 🔦and a team of folks who mostly know what you are doing. What could possibly go wrong? 🎥 Channel your favorite B-movie horror flicks of the 60s and 70s Face the restless dead, fiendish creatures, servants of EVIL, and perhaps even THE DEVIL HIMSELF 👿 Use quips, tropes, and one-liners to defeat them! And if that doesn't work, 🎬 you can always call for a rewrite. Run away, save the day, or die trying 🪦 This is a "Learn to Play" scenerio from Onyx Path using the basic rules of their d10 Storypath system.

How to prepare

Read through the prep materials and register at playrole.com where you will find your character sheets and more information. Let me know which pre-generated character you prefer asap as they are distributed first come first served. You may also wish to join the Discord for more information and easier communication before the session. You will need a good microphone, headphones are recommended. A camera is not necessary. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.

Gameplay details

This game is heavy with old horror movie tropes including unnecessary amounts of blood and gore, undead, ghosts, creepy crawlies, darkness, jump scares, enclosed spaces, body horror, human sacrifice, cults, witches, witch hunts, religion, religious heresy, the devil, deception, entrapment, vicious animals, harm to domestic animals, dark places, spooky forests, angry mobs, and poison. Sexual violence is not permitted among PCs or NPCs at my tables and players are expected to refrain from slurs of any kind. I also ask that we try to keep foul language to the minimum we are able while facing probable death and fearing for our mortal souls. We will discuss our lines and veils and other safety tools at the start of the session.
