About the adventure

You have arrived at the lost and broken ruins of the city of Delf. Once an ancient stronghold of the dwarves, inhabited by and the envy of many, it was lost over a century ago to calamity and ruin brought on by dragons jealous of its treasures. Powerful enchantments, unknown artifacts, and a city poised to defend itself contributed to the ruin as much as the fire of the wyrms did, and the city has been lost since, trapped beneath rubble, ruin, and ancient magics meant to protect it. Something, it seems, has damaged these protections, allowing entrance into a part of the city. Or removed them. Whatever has happened, there are many interested parties that want to see the city explored, understood, and perhaps even made safe again. Why are you here? That's entirely up to you. Glory, treasure, challenge, a mystery, and perhaps even ancient answers await those that are brave and willing to enter the ruins. Will you take a single trip for enough gold to make your name known? Or will you return with treasures that can improve your circumstances and allow for even deeper journey's for yourself and whatever others are brought with you? Your path is yours to choose, whether a shallow dip, or a constant, hungry delving into: The Ruins of Delf. Check out the trailer for this adventure here!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va-yLnRfkSQ An adventure based in exploration, discovery of the unknown, and being willing to face dangers and potential horrors that lurk in the dark places of forgotten ruins, the Ruins of Delf is a one shot that is just the tip of an iceberg... if you'd like it to be. Based entirely within a unique world and written as a unique story, it's an opportunity for players of all ages and experience levels to know, or rediscover, that feel of a classic dungeon dive with more than a few twists. A safe place for every single player, this game will be run with understanding, empathy, and connection for every person present for it.

How to prepare

All players will need a microphone for their computer or device. If everyone agrees and feels comfortable, we'll also use cameras so we can see each other's wonderful faces for the game. In addition, you will need the following: 1. An account on Discord. Preferably you'll want to download the app to your device of choice but it can be used through a web browser. The link to download it can be found here: https://discord.com/download 2. An account on DnD Beyond. This is where we'll create our characters and keep our character sheets. It's an incredibly intuitive and easy system to use with dice rolling and all the math you may need to do baked right into it. It's also free! Head to https://www.dndbeyond.com/ to sign up. 3. An account on Roll20 (used for combat, sparingly). This is also a free account and will be used at least once for combat purposes and viewing maps, should the need arise. Head to: https://roll20.net/ and create a free account!

What I provide

Many books on D&D Beyond, maps created via Roll20 if they become necessary, years of experience bringing this game and its stories to life, voice acting abilities, and the possibility of making this far more than just a single session of adventure.

Gameplay details

This game contains elements of fantasy violence, potentially scary encounters with creatures that are not of this world, and intrigue. We will use the "X" card safety technique, as well as the "Script Change" safety tool, allowing players to address potential conflict or overly intense situations when they arise, taking breaks as necessary. There is plenty of space for questions, interaction, emotions, and any difficulties that arise. There is no room for judgement, personal attacks, bigotry, hatred, or any other form of devaluation of another person. Violate that statute, and you'll be removed from the game. Know that if you do choose to play, the space will be kept safe and there will be time to debrief and decompress afterwards.
