The Lost Mine of Phandelver ~ A Beginner-Friendly Game for Levels 1-5

About the adventure

Your friend, the illustrious dwarven businessman Gundren Rockseeker, has a job for you. He whispers of a new venture that will soon make him a very rich dwarf indeed. For 10 shiny gold pieces, you and a band of tough adventures will guard his supply wagon while it makes its trip to Phandalin. It's only three day's travel from Neverwinter to Phandalin. True, you'll need to cross miles of unprotected roads. And yes, bandits, goblins and beasts are known to roam the hills and plains of the North. But hey... What's the worst that could happen? ~~~ LMoP is a beginner-friendly D&D adventure that runs from 1st to 5th level. In it, you will take the role of a newly trained adventurer from the Neverwinter region. Your task is to protect/rescue your friend, the dwarven businessman Gundren Rockseeker. In the course of your adventure, you will the secret plot that has been brewing against him, and the true nature of his wondrous discovery, known only as The Lost Mine of Phandelver. ~~~ We will use Roll20, (for its VTT) D&DBeyond (for its character sheets/content sharing) and Discord (for voice chatting.) Detailed battlemaps, ambient music and dynamic lighting will be provided for immersive gameplay. I am available to field questions for newer players, as well as provide rules/character building help. Inclusivity is a non-negotiable, we run a LGBTQ+ friendly game.

Additional Details

How to prepare

Players will need Roll20, D&DBeyond and Discord accounts, but will not need to use any paid features of those services. A microphone is needed for Discord chat. Webcam preferred but not needed.

What I provide

I will bring the weight of my D&DBeyond and Roll20 accounts, which will provide content sharing for access to options in the core 5e books + a few supplements. The game will include battlemaps, ambient music and dynamic lighting for an immersive, tactical experience. I will also use Discord as a platform to deliver detailed game logs and handy information.

How will character creation work

Characters will begin at level 1. We will create characters together in session 0. You are free to begin character creation beforehand, but please be open to changing aspects in order to fit in with the setting and the party. If so, stick to these guidelines: We will be using Point Buy or Standard Array for ability scores. All race options in the Player's Handbook, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, Volo's Guide to Monsters and Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multiverse are allowed. All OFFICIAL classes and subclasses are allowed (including artificer.) Use starting equipment. Use average HP, encumbrance and coinw eight. Multiclassing/Feats are allowed.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
