About the adventure

A classic DND monster and a classic DND adventure! Grab a hot drink and a blanket and settle in for cracking session of fast paced Dungeons and Dragons. Whether you are brand new to DND or a session hardened hero of the people, any experience level is welcome at this table. A Beholder has been causing trouble for folks living nearby. You and your companions are now standing at the entrance to the creatures lair. Each player arrives with a different motivation for finding this ancient and wondrous monster, but you all have the same core goal, survive the Beholders lair and locate this Magical Aberration. Prior to session start each player will be given a unique and specific piece of information about the beholder and its lair reflective of the class and background chosen by you, the player! A Level 5 Adventure, homebrewed to perfection to provide plenty of entertaining twists and turns, and hosted by beloved Kiwi Comedian Steve Wrigley. This is Kiwi DND at it's finest. When applying for this one shot, you must submit the following: A LVL 5 Character Sheet created on DND Beyond using The Players Hand Book or The Basic Rules A Mini Figure of your Character created on Heroforge.com (Please SAVE your minifig in Heroforge then send a link to the build' A simple background, 100 words max 3 word minimum (Don't be afraid to simply use the options provided by The Players Handbook) The reason your Player Character is seeking out this Beholder. EXTRA IF YOU WANT - Take 1200 Gold and, using the 'Between Adventures' section of the Players Handbook spend it. Where did you stay, what did you eat? What did you buy? Feel free to add flavor, IE if you 'BUY' an enchanted weapon feel free to flavor that acquisition, deduct the 500 gold from your budget but RP that you 'won the weapon in a tournament' or 'took it from a defeated enemy' - whatever you choose let 1200 gold be the only restraint! *NB - Please be prepared for a potentially long session! ;)

Additional Details

How to prepare

You will need a DND Beyond character Sheet and a Mini Fig made using Heroforge. I use discord to run my sessions. I build my visual style out in a unique way, so you wont need to be on camera. You will need decent Audio running through discord, and you will want to be able to see both A: The video feed I will provide and B: Your character sheet on DND Beyond. PLEASE consider other peoples ears, if you are keen to get in to the world of virtual table top, investing in your ears and the ears of your fellow players with a decent headset and microphone is always encouraged.

What I provide

Every session is recorded and available to players for personal use. These recordings can not be shared to protect player privacy but exist as an archive of your amazing experience!

Gameplay details

Expect to play a group focused game. You will be encouraged to enjoy the characters other players bring to the table as much as you enjoy playing your own. There will typically be a blend of enjoyable combat scenarios as well as out of combat problem solving and mystery.

How will character creation work

We will schedule a 30 minute 1 on 1 session prior to the game starting (Time permitting) to set up your character. You will be given several pieces of information about the beholder and it's lair that are known ONLY to you. This session aims to give you that 'end of the campaign' feel over a fun afternoon/evening of DND
