About the adventure

This campaign is set on the continent Tal’Dorei, in the world of Exandria from Critical Role! The campaign will be personalized to your character, their backstory, and your decisions as their player, giving your character opportunities to grow and develop, and leave their mark on the world! If you want to know more, here is the setup for where the party is currently, and the start your potential adventures in this campaign: In the land of Tal'Dorei, more than 20 years after Vox Machina saved Exandria from the schemes of The Chroma Conclave and The Whispered One, a few up-and-coming adventurers called the Azure Blades have just finished an expedition into the Unseeable City, culminating in them stopping an eldritch cult from summoning their aberrant god and its forces into Exandria for mass invasion. Even finding that a member of the Tal'Dorei Council and a prominent Emon family have been involved with the cult. As they wrap up the small remaining loose ends, a party member is needing to part ways for now, and the two remaining members are looking for new adventurers to join them on whatever their next quest will be. There’s no telling what direction the Azure Blades’ adventures could go in next. There’s a lot happening in Tal’Dorei. Hope to have a few of you join them and see what adventures lie in store!

How to prepare

Send me your character concept and backstory before session 0 if possible. If you have any special needs or triggers that you need to discuss privately, please contact me, I'm always open. While not required, if you have access to the basic rules of the game, please learn them and what your character can do (actions, abilities, maneuvers, spells, etc.). However, I’m always happy to help new players learn- so even if you come into the game knowing nothing, I got you! Game will be run on Discord using the Avrae bot. Cam/mic required.

What I provide

Digital game. Rolls will be done on Avrae bot on Discord. DnD Beyond shared content (all published player content and Critical Role content), will use Owlbear Rodeo to run encounters using maps made with Inkarnate.

Gameplay details

Because it's an open campaign with a lot of different options for what adventures a party can undertake, it's hard to know the specific content warnings in advance. But if I know what to avoid, I always avoid it. I will always do my best to cater to any player's needs and stay away from triggers. I am always open to discuss things during play and between games, and in session 0 I will work to determine with the group what can/cannot be included in the game. The main content warnings that I'd give for just my general style of DMing and narrating are: - Blood/Gore - Violence - Cursing - Death/Murder One of the available classes, the Blood Hunter, has a feature that involves inflicting damage on themselves to gain a magical effect on their weapon. One way that might be done is by a form of self-harm with that weapon. There are adventures in the setting that could get into themes of: - Supernatural or cosmic horror - Body horror (mostly in terms of antagonists/monsters, I will never have an alteration to a PCs body take place without the player's consent). - Suicide (one potential adventure involves getting information from the house of someone who was lost to this - no descriptions of such an act will ever take place in my game) I will adjust my descriptions and narrating to be as tame or not as needed by the group. However, I will never describe anything sexual. Player characters are free to seek such relationships or activities in game (as long as there is consent between players, PCs, and NPCs for that to take place), but anything sexual will either be "fade to black" or only mentioned in passing.

How will character creation work

If you're new to D&D and don't know how to make a character, I am more than happy to help you with that even before the first session. Message me on Discord at ToryAlex#1892 and I'll work with ya! My Tuesday party is at level 7, my Friday party is at level 6. So make a character at the same level for the game you join. Stats will be rolled during session 0 (four 6-sided dice, reroll 1s, drop lowest number, add together. Repeat seven times and drop the lowest total). Characters can be built on DnD Beyond on one of my campaigns there to gain access to my shared content - makes character creation easy. All official races allowed as well as Critical Role content. Willing to work with players on a homebrew race/subrace or subclass if a player has a concept that doesn't exist in the books. Will need to fit in the setting though. Also note that homebrew content does not work on the Avrae Discord bot as easily and will require manually inputting things. PLEASE create a character that will want to work with the others in the party and not be self-serving or confrontational toward other party members. Having differing goals and such is fine and expected, just be willing to work with the group.
