About the adventure

You'll start our story as stalwart mercenaries in a borderlands community amidst the orc-lands, soon spurred into action by rumblings of giants set on trampling the smallfolk underfoot! This campaign converts the Storm King's Thunder adventure for Pathfinder 2nd Edition, which will also adapt and merge content from the Giantslayer Adventure Path for Pathfinder 1st Edition into an ultimate giant-fighting campaign. Spanning levels 5-15, you'll: 🛡️ Investigate an infiltration of a borderlands town that'll soon lead to a full-blown invasion by a new giant alliance. 🗡️ Make deals with or manipulate the elemental tempers between different Giant factions playing politics to seize the storm tyrant's throne. ⛰️ Travel the Mindspin mountains and beyond, where culture and ancestries blend at the border of Eastern Varisia. Humans in Trunau live in tense peace among orc warbands; Janderhoff dwarves open their mountainhome to native Shaonti tribes; and Kaer Maga is as diverse a melting pot as you'll find anywhere on the continent. 🌩️ My main inspirational touchstones for running this adventure include The Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), and Netflix's Castlevania (Seasons 1-3). How to prepare

🎙️ You'll need a working microphone, a stable internet connection, a free Discord account, and a free Forge VTT account (https://forge-vtt.com/). Webcams are optional. Before you join the Discord server, I'll arrange a short one-on-one meeting to confirm that you meet the above requirements, ask about your preferences for the game, and establish character concepts before everyone meets during Session 0.

Gameplay details

📝 Before Session 0 you'll receive a consent checklist to fill me in on topics that must be handled cautiously or outright banned for your comfort. Once everyone fills theirs out, during Session 0 I'll post an anonymous compilation of everyone's triggers. ❌ During sessions, you can press a button to pop up an X-card on-screen. When the card comes up, we break and discuss what needs to be changed for you to feel comfortable continuing with the game. ⏳ Around mid-session, there'll be a 10-15 minute break for grabbing snacks and bio breaks. At the end of each session, we'll debrief with any questions, comments, concerns, or points of inquiry. Please feel free to share critique, your favorite moments from the session, and anything you'd like to see next time.

How will character creation work

Character creation will start before Session 0. I will provide a player's guide. During a one-on-one meeting, I will ask questions about what type of character you want to play and answer any questions you need to help you achieve that character in a mechanically and narratively satisfying way. Characters will start play at level 5. Third Party Content will be allowed with prior approval.
