About the adventure

If you want to learn combat in PF2 or for a class you've not yet tried, this is the adventure for you. Punishing combat in a vast dungeon, probably character death and thus the opportunity to try a new build, interesting creatures and loot with a fun time to boot. Reach 11th level - at least! Return to Otari to sell your loot and upgrade your equipment. Meet local NPCs, and go back to the Vaults when you're ready. But don't take too long, who knows what could be going on down there... Grow in strength and courage as you discover the dastardly secrets that threaten to overwhelm the quaint, sleepy town of Otari. This is your chance to be the hero you've always wanted to be.

How to prepare

You will need a headset and a mic (or a combination set), access to any web browser that will allow you to play on Foundry (most seem to but Opera and Firefox have worked best for my online groups), and a Discord account (free). All communication will be done via Discord - mics only during game sessions, and we can talk about the game or even just visit out-of-character throughout the week. Unless I'm asleep, I'll be available to answer questions via Discord. Other than that, you just need a desire to RP, a sense of humor, and a desire to have a good time.

What I provide

I own the adventure on (and) FoundryVTT, so everything will be available. Paizo provides a free Player's Guide I will list a link to, and the Pathfinder SRD has a lot of the rules and options available online. I expect cooperation, respect for your fellow players, and kindness to all those participating. I will do my best to provide a safe, welcoming, fun environment and game for everyone involved.

Gameplay details

Once you join the game, I will send you a link to the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist to go over. During Session 0, we will talk about it (feel free to send me a completed checklist with any notes on what, if anything, you don't want me to share with the rest of the group) and make sure everybody knows what is acceptable and what is not. I've been through a fair share of trauma in my life, so I can easily use that as cover for anybody else who might not be okay with something but also don't want to talk about or be 'the reason' others can't do or talk about something. Although most things in game don't bother me, I can easily see how some things (like the murder of babies or children, as an example of something that would bother me) can be very traumatic to see or hear, so I'm happy to find workarounds and to provide protection for my players. Just keep me informed so that I can look out for you and nip anything in the bud should another player forget or something come up that you didn't realize would hit you so hard.

How will character creation work

We will have a Session 0 during which we will meet each other, decide who wants to play what, go over what is or isn't "safe" and healthy for us, create our characters, and, if time permits, at least try to gather the PCs in-character as a group and maybe even get them into the Vaults.

  • Roleplay: Low

  • Puzzles: Medium
