About Kristin
Gamer since the early '80s. Board games, card games, video games, role-playing games, I love them all. I enjoy hosting/running games and game nights, making people feel comfortable, happy, and welcome. With GMing, in particular, I like to assist my players in reaching their goals, creating characters they enjoy playing, and handing out loot and bonuses, even beyond what a pre-written adventure might call for. I enjoy the camaraderie of a group of adventurers working together to heroically achieve goals and become friends, both at and away from the 'table.'

When I'm not running games I'm...
…singing while playing video games. I run local gaming events and love to spend time in the U.S. with my family whenever we’re able to take the trip. I spend a lot of time playing games with my husband while our kitty tries to join in. And I spend a lot of time at the hospital and doctor’s offices.
How Kristin runs games
I love all aspects of role-playing, but I do not enjoy playing evil characters or running evil characters. It's one thing to be a troubled hero, a la Loki, but I don't enjoy being bad for the sake of being bad. Combat is a lot of fun though it can be tedious, so I appreciate it when people can at least have an idea of what they'd like to do or questions they'd like to ask so we can keep things moving. I enjoy the back and forth between PCs and between PCs and NPCs, but I am not great at voices or accents. I am pretty quick at coming up with conversation or information on the fly, however, and hope that can make up for my shortcomings. I love rewarding my PCs with bonuses such as Hero Points, Luck Points, etc., a small amount of XP when not using Milestones, and so on.

I deal with rules issues by...
Trying to make the best, most fair call in the shortest amount of time. If all else fails, whatever is intelligent, cool, or impressive will win the day, and I can hammer out the details of the actual rule or rules later. No need to slow down game time that much if at all possible.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Mel Brooks, Steven Spielberg, and Ron Howard if I were so lucky. Hilarious yet meaningful, sometimes emotional, cinematic, and with good storylines you want to follow.
Kristin's ideal table
I am happiest when I have a group of players who actively want to be there and want to contribute to everything a good RPG entails - battle, puzzles, social interactions, traps, “role”-playing vs just roll-playing, etc. Creative players who try to come at obstacles in different ways and don’t just always, “Hulk. Smash,” really make my day and inspire me.

I am for a vibe that's...
Welcoming, as upbeat as possible, understanding, and helpful. I love it when my players really get into helping each other by finding a feat or something or other they think someone will really enjoy - especially when they do it without coming across as bossy. Nobody likes that, of course.
If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Movie and TV quotes, song lyrics, sarcastic responses, and making each other laugh…
