About the adventure
Captured by the drow! You wouldn't wish this fate upon anyone, yet here you are - locked in a dark cave, the cold, heavy weight of metal tight around your throat and wrists. You are not alone. Other prisoners are trapped in here with you, in an underground outpost far from the light of the sun. Your captors include a cruel drow priestess who calls herself Mistress Ilvara of House Mizzrym. Over the past several days, you've met her several times, robed in silver garments and flanked by two male drow, one of whom has a mass of scars along one side of his face and neck. Mistress Ilvara likes to impress her will with scourge in hand and remind you that your life now belongs to her. "Accept your fate, learn to obey, and you may survive." Her words echo in your memory, even as you plot your escape. The Underdark is a subterranean horror scape, a vast and twisted labyrinth where fear reigns. It is the home of monsters that have never seen the light of day. A dark elf archmage casts a foul spell meant to ignite a magical energy that suffuses the Underdark and tears open portals to the demonic Abyss. What steps through surprises even him, and from that moment on, the insanity that pervades the Underdark escalates and threatens to shake the Forgotten Realms to its foundations. Stop the madness before it consumes you! ⏰ This is a Play-by-Post campaign hosted over a Discord server. This game can be entirely played on almost any mobile device, tablet, or phone. As Dungeon Master, I will be available multiple times each weekday and as time allows on weekends, and players are expected to be available at least once per day if they are actively engaged in a scene.

How to prepare
This Play-by-Post uses Discord and D&D Beyond. Yep, that's all you need. Install the Discord Application and join us in the server: https://discord.gg/qQJ7e6EMef Once in the server, read the Play-by-Post guidelines and familiarize yourself with the system rules. You don't have to read everything, but knowing where and how it's all organized will help.

Gameplay details
We will have a Session 0 as soon as we get enough players. This is an asynchronous play-by-post game run entirely on Discord. You post during the week and weekends as much as you wish (preferably at least once per day), and as Dungeon Master I will respond multiple times per day. You can access the game anytime from your device of choice. The game will be narrative and roleplay heavy. The beauty of Play-by-post is that the descriptions can be far more detailed and the nuance of playing your character can create an engrossing experience. Taking the time to explain your character's expressions and mannerisms, or reading the description of a creature before it attacks harkens back to the old-school days of the Theatre of the Mind experience. Roll initiative and unlock your imagination!
