About the adventure

Let us explore an unforgiving, whacky wasteland together! Save unique Wastelanders you deem worthy, physically or mentally. Battle distinctive robots that are out to kill you due to their programming and other reasons. Learn about other quirky Wastelanders and how they affect the world and the party. Solve the mystery of vanishing people in various settlements. Explore peculiar ruins and uncover exclusive treasures hidden within them. Fight against creative foes who plot to turn your character's life upside-down. The adventure begins with the party encountering an elderly engineer of the wasteland knights. The engineer operates a nearby radio station and recently received a distress signal from his associates which aerial transport went down in hostile wilderness following a mysterious attack. The engineer is not healthy enough to launch a recovery independently, but you are. Can you locate – and hopefully recover – any survivors of the crash? Let us find out together! The introduction is typical, but our story definitely would not. Join us in an adventure in a world with which I have taken creative liberty. It will leave a one-of-a-kind chapter in your memory when the journey concludes. A Mercenary or Trader, a Sentient Robot, a Super Mutant, Someone affiliated with the Brotherhood of Steel, a ghoul, a Dweller from a Vault, A Survivor blessed by Radiation, an Artificial Human... Character possibilities are endless and open for us to mould together! Explanations and refreshers on how mechanics in the Fallout RPG system, Discord and the bots used in the game work will be taught slowly if required or when requested as we play. Suggestions of mechanics that fit characters' narratives will be provided for inspiration when applicable to solidify character moments and allow you to try doing stuff not usually permitted by rules as written.

How to prepare

You must have Discord as we will be posting there. It will be text only. An explanation of the Fallout RPG system or creating a new character through a live voice session can be arranged when requested. Reading the game rules will be greatly appreciated due to the nature of PbPs. Nonetheless, I will do my absolute best to be a guide and helper when a rule is forgotten or misunderstood, and the rest are always willing to lend a hand too!

What I provide

PDFs of the Fallout 2d20 Core Rulebook, Fallout 2d20 Settler's Guide, Fallout 2d20 Wanderer's Supplement and Cheatsheets will be shared with all players. I personally also own the Fallout 2d20 Quickstart, Fallout 2d20 GM's Toolkit, Fallout 2d20 NPCs Packs and Fallout 2d20 Astoundingly Awesome Tales series so you can expect additional rules to be used to liven the game up and pose additional challenges to you. I'm also an avid creator of content so you can expect Perks and Benefits that are tailored to suit your Character, as well as an addition of various non-official Fallout Items that can be found in the wasteland or possibly crafted, all collected in a Google Sheet made and maintained by me. When I say content, Monsters are included too~ I'll be posting battle maps into Discord if a combat requires it. I like to keep every NPC unique through their spins of unique traits, appearances and/or habits, I hope you will like how the NPCs will be presented. I have more confidence in designing challenging and tactical encounters, as such, I'm usually by the book in terms of rules and mechanics, but seeing we are all here to have fun, rules can and will be modified to suit the table's needs.

Gameplay details

"Session 0" which lasts for a week will be held to break the ice between us, lay down the rules of the table, set up and confirm player expectations, give a brief world introduction as well as create characters together. If creating a character is not your thing, there will also be a few Pre-Gens to choose from and modify (If you wish). A Lines and Veil document will also be sent during this session, it can be edited anytime throughout the game, and I will check it before the first post I make every day. During the game, if something you are uncomfortable with comes up, you can discuss it with the group and express your needs or wants for how the play should continue. Biweekly, I will ask for and read your opinions of the game, whether it be an issue or a good part. Star and Wishes questions will also be sent to you all so I can draft next week's posts with what you like and your wants in mind.

How will character creation work

You only need to have a rough draft of what you want to play and your character's backstory, either in your head, written down on a piece of paper or typed into a digital document. If you do not want to create a character, there will also be a few Pre-Gens for you to choose from and modify (If you wish). The actual character creation process and finishing up your character's backstory details will be done during "Session 0" with everyone, or with both of us, alongside anyone else who is interested in a separate channel if "Session 0" has ended, or your character performs very differently from your expectations and you wish to change characters with our or the party's mutual agreement. Your character will be starting at Level 1, with stats decided through Point-buy, the details will be explained during "Session 0" (Or if you choose to, you may scour the Fallout 2d20 Core Rulebook beforehand for it). All official sources are allowed, Custom Content will be allowed on a case-by-case basis after I review them, with the clause that I can edit/rebalance them when required.
