About the adventure

In a small seaside town, three days from the nearest city, something sinister lurks. You have been hired simply to investigate the disappearance of some dried fish, but you will soon find something much more worrying beneath the surface of the town... This mini-adventure is designed for beginners, but all experience levels are welcome. Characters should be level 1 with no variant rules, and I am happy to provide pre-generated characters or character creation guidance. The beginner box typically takes two sessions, but it can last for three, depending on how long we go for in the individual sessions. I am open to continuing the campaign afterwards. I have run the beginner box multiple times and use the official Foundry VTT module for it, which is very fun and fancy.

How to prepare

You will need a mic and a computer. You do not need to install anything, but you should create a free account with the Forge and on discord. If you read the rules ahead of time that is wonderful, but you don't need to.

What I provide

I will provide the virtual tabletop and maps, the virtual dice, the music, and a great deal of enthusiasm : ) I also provide experience with the system, the module, and Foundry VTT, and can guide you to setting everything up.

Gameplay details

Our first session will be a combination session 0 & 1. We will discuss safety tools, session length and number of breaks, and any character set-up that needs doing. Safety tools: all lines and veils should be sent to me, and I will anonymise them and ensure the group is aware of where not to tread. We will also have an anonymous X-card button available, and the N- and O-cards can be typed into chat at any point. The content warnings include things that are optional and can be removed. Please discuss with me if you would like some removed. As the beginner box is a dungeon crawl, please expect combat! You need not be a tactical expert, however, so don't be worried - it is designed to slowly build you up by introducing new concepts bit by bit.

How will character creation work

Players are welcome to create their own characters, with or without my help, in which case you will put them directly into the Foundry VTT game when it is online. If you want to use a pre-generated character, I can provide the iconic character for most classes, or I can build a character for you. All characters should be input or selected by the end of session 0.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
