Monster of the Week
Monster of the Week on Discord, Roll20
About the adventure
A game about finding and stopping monsters. This game works with many cool settings, some of my favorite to run are strong sci-fi setting like Fringe, or a modern magic world like buffy, supernatural or Dresden Files. You can even play a Harry Potter out in the Magical world type game pretty easy. You will be hunting monsters and phenomenons that are causing damage to the world while getting swept up in amazing character centered stories.
How to prepare
This will be voice and mic. We can try webcam to if people are interested. Create your character and enter them into roll 20. Read the basic moves, a printed basic moves reference sheet and playbook help too.
What I provide
I will set everything up in Roll20, provide you characters and tokens to use. I will provide access to the Monster of the week book and tome of mysteries, including all the playbooks and alternative weird moves.
This is a Monster of the Week game. It is a narrative focused game that uses 2d6 to resolve random elements. It is very easy to play and really creates interesting dramatic moments and awesome interactions. The players will pick a playbook working with the Keeper(DM) A session looks like 5-8 mins of getting into it and saying hellos. Then it's off solving the mysteries that will revolve around artifacts, creatures and phenomenons. Following clues and having cool interactions with suspects, victims and bystanders. Learning the weaknesses of the target before trying to confront them hopefully without getting killed. Every monster in this game is very dangerous to the hunters and should be treated as such. The hunters may die if they do to many stupid things, but that makes it exciting. Think about it and make good choices, or don't that's fun too.
