About the adventure

Sitting on a rooftop in your slick costume, about to take a bite out of a mouth-watering sandwich. You hear a deafening roar. A 120 ft. tall Violet Gorilla comes out of NOWHERE and starts reeking havoc on downtown. This is shaping to be... NOT your day. You've been eating too much red meat anyway, you think as you toss your sandwich and yell at your wrist: "Alright, gang, break time's over", just as you jump off the ledge. !~~~~~~Welcome to MASKS~~~~~~~~ You are a superhero, and that's the LEAST of your worries, because you are also a teenager! MASKS is a game about exploring relationships, conflict, and personal growth in an action packed and fantastical setting. In brief about this game: - A role playing game focused on relationship exploration and character personal growth journey. - Run by a mental health professional with robust experience in group facilitation of personal growth and effective communication. Who is also queer, neurodivergent, and highly empathetic. - Run in the system "MASKS: A New Generation" A queer system tailored to explore more complex relationship dynamics, while still holding a high standard of consent, group and personal safety. How to prepare

A microphone is mandatory. Webcam is not mandatory, but highly recommended, as seeing each other creates more safety and engagement in my experience :) My groups mostly play on camera, with breaks. Gameplay details

The game is highly tuned for self-reflection and emotional safety. - There will be a robust session 0, where we will create characters, the world we want to play in, share and discuss what we would like to explore and what we definitely don't, as a group. (Any player who joins later in the campaign, will receive their own session 0 free of charge.) -We will continue to monitor the level of safety, using the X,N and O card mechanics, Lines and veils and other communication and safety tools as issues come up. - Before and after the actual roleplay portion of the session, we will have time to check in and out, share our personal feelings and impacts from the session using guided questions(all optional). - If there is any player conflict it will be dealt with gently, making sure all parts are seen and understood. - Game will be played on zoom. Cameras are not mandatory but are encouraged to help add to the feeling of connection and safety within the group. - We will take frequent breaks and have an open door and self-care policy. Safety and comfort always come first.

How will character creation work

We will join a discord server where the character playbooks will be available to read pre-session 0. In session 0, we will create characters together, answer any questions and create connections between characters.

Players can expect

• Find a game to join solo or search for a professional game master for you and your friends/coworkers/family.
• Book your session and wait for the Game Master to approve you.
• If you don't have a blast with your first game, your next game is on us.
