About the adventure

This is a Bi-Weekly Campaign on Tuesday Nights. Will you answer the call? Can you change fate? Venture to the realm of Exandria! Traverse the continent of Wildemount and beyond in this epic Critical Role Campaign for 5th Edition D&D! This campaign provides ample opportunity for roleplaying/interaction, combat against fierce new monsters, and exploration through the world of Exandria. My game table remains welcoming, casual and LGBTQ+ friendly. Safety tools will always be available. Fantasy worlds are best when diverse, fun and inclusive. Lets roll some dice and go on an adventure! The greed of mortals has awakened a powerful entity long thought destroyed. For eons, this mighty champion of the gods has been imprisoned in the darkest depths of Exandria. His name has been forgotten, as have his heroic deeds. Languishing in despair, he calls out for new heroes to save him. Travel through blasted wastelands, a glimmering desert metropolis, and a sunken realm of gloom, corruption, and sorrow. Whether you are a fan of Critical Role or not - this adventure provides the opportunity to leave your mark on Exandria and a chance to explore this rich imaginative world. But don’t dwell too long staring in wonder as you are not the only ones to have heard the call... This campaign begins in the coastal city of Jigow in the Wastes of Xhorhas. This provides an ideal opportunity to play as any of the myriad "monstrous" races; including orcs, goblinoids, drow, dragonborn, goliaths, kenku, etc... These character origins will fit right in and are encouraged for this campaign. That said, any race/class/background from the available sources is available to play. We will have a Session Zero so we can ensure everyone is safe and comfortable at the table and able to enjoy themselves to the fullest. I can aid you in crafting your characters backstory and will work to weave it into the narrative. If you wish to use the Heroic Chronicle, we can go through it together during Session Zero. If you are new to D&D or Roll20 we can meet in advance to get you up to speed. I am happy to help new players get into the game. This campaign will not launch until we have 4 players. In the meantime you may join the Discord server and discuss ideas with your fellow players, ask questions, geek out over the latest episode of CritRole, or just hang out. From the creative minds of Chris Perkins, James Haeck and Matthew Mercer comes an adventure not to be missed! So… How do you want to do this?

Gameplay details

Without spoiling the plot or story, it’s safe to say you’ll encounter some scary things, and that your character could die. There will be things with more eyes or legs or tentacles than seem reasonable, things that ought to be dead but aren’t, things you character will wish they could unsee. In session zero we’ll discuss content that we should leave out, for the safety and comfort of all participants. If any player is compromising the ability of others to enjoy the game - they will be asked to leave.

How will character creation work

We will build characters in Roll20 using the Roll20 Charactermancer. Ability scores will use the Standard Array. Characters will start at Level 3. Character Creation will use the following books: Player’s Handbook, Volo’s Guide to Monsters, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything, Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons, Mordenkainan’s Tome of Foes, Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, and VanRichten’s Guide to Ravenloft. Any character options, races, classes, subclasses, backgrounds, and spells, within those books are available. You are free to use the rules in Tasha's Cauldron of Everything for Customizing Your Origin. All of the listed sources will be unlocked in the Roll20 Compendium for this campaign.
