About the adventure

"When the heavens come crashing down, who will be there to save us?” World Information ------------------------------------ No one really knows how the universe was created, but there is a theory, the creation of a life force called "Matter". As life energy flows through the universe, the first ever plane was created, Celestia. Life bloomed in Celestia, and its people thrived as Matter ensure its people harvest and growth. However, that was not the end, when Matter came into existence, its powerful energy created leylines which symbolizes the existence of elements. The leyline soon created another plane, Ilterra, which gave life to another - the humanoids. The creation of the 2 planes created excess energy called "Dark Matter", with it creates the dark shadowy realm of Hegemmon. For thousands of years, as humanoids came into existence, Celestials helped the humanoids in establishing their first civilization and protected them against the invasion from Hegemmon. But as time passes, Celestia had outgrown their realm and quickly outgrowing the resources that Matter provided them. Celestials asked the humanoids for assistance, and the humanoids humbly complied to the demands of their protector. As generations pass, Celestia's demands drastically grew until one day, Lord Valter Immortius said no. To preserve the livelihood of Ilterra, King Valter refused to give the Celestials anymore resources. With the refusal, the first war between the humanoids and celestials broke out. Lord Valter and his army stood no chance against the power of the Celestials and the Celestials showed no mercy. With the death of Lord Valter, kingdoms of Halion banded together to push back the Celestial Army. Islathyr, with their mages established the Magic Tower which created abjuration spell to protect the continent of Halion from celestial invasion. Khundrukhar Empire dwarves' forged weapons and armors enough for the whole continent. And the long lost heirs of Valter rose an army to take back what belonged to them. From the darkness below, the demons and devils of Hegemmon use this opportunity to trade their power for a price. Those who contracted with a resident of Hegemmon are called Tenebrum, humanoids with power of Dark Matter. With the power of Hegemmon on their side, they became feared by both Celestials and humanoids alike as they wield an unknown, uncontrollable power that could go berserk at any moment. Adventure Primer ----------------------------- Throughout the Western region of Halion a savage war ensues, the Celestial war. For generations the Celestials have been attacking the continent Halion as part of their plan to conquer Ilterra. The Valter Kingdom has been the defense against the attack, with its King, Wilhelm Immortius at the frontline. However, with the never-ending onslaught of the Celestials, there's a need for new heroes. And so it formed, the Lionheart Order - Alpha Squad.

Additional Details

How to prepare

A nice working headset and discord is a must. Tools such as character sheet will be provided on Dndbeyond and available contents (books, etc.) will be shared. Players will need to buy TaleSpire on steam as the game will run on TaleSpire (which means a a good working computer to run TaleSpire is also needed), but heroforge model costs will be covered by the DM as part of the DM fee.

What I provide

We will create the heroforge models for your characters and I will pay and download them on to the campaign. No physical tools needed unless you want to (notebooks?). I love to emphasize on visuals so expect a lot of maps and handouts in addition to what the module provides :)

Gameplay details

This is an epic fast-paced fantasy adventure filled with intense moments. A typical session would range from investigations, negotiations, and even fighting your way through a dungeon. Heavensfall is set in the Western regions of Halion. Though a little smaller than other campaigns, this means the players will have opportunity to delve deeper on the areas surrounding it and have real player agency as they shape the area with their action. The adventure will take the players from level 1 to level 13+ (most likely to go to level 15). Players are expected to have some sort of an attachment to Halion or Ilterra as it is threatened by the Celestials. Even those who only have themselves in mind, know that they won't have much left, if the world is taken over by the Celestials. The players will begin as handpicked talents from across the land to join the Lionheart Order as part of their Alpha Squad. The Lionheart order has been known to be one of the most fierce and capable groups, tackling dangerous missions no other can accomplish. Content Warnings: there is a fairly typical amount of violence for a D&D campaign, the possibility of interrogation scenarios (which will be handled without graphic descriptions of violence), possibly themes of religious conflict, possibly violence against animals in some cases. We will discuss limits and triggers during session zero, and everyone should feel empowered to express their opinion if they feel the game has moved too far in a direction they are not happy with.
